Suzy Kolber: Allegedly, the Monday Night Football sideline reporter was having an affair with a producer on the show. Biggie? No biggie? Anyway, he was supposedly married with four kids. As a reader noted, Kolber had a baby last March. Hmmmm. At the time, her father adamantly refused to say who the baby’s father was. We’re unable to find any further information. BCS Announcers: Bad news if your team makes the Sugar Bowl -Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick will be the announcers. We still cringe at the thought of Brennaman slurping Tim Tebow in January. The good news is that Musburger and Herbstreit will call the National title game and the Rose Bowl. The Orange Bowl: Dick Stockton and Charles Davis. 50 Cent vs. Marv Albert: Marv went on Jimmy Kimmel this week. So did 50 Cent. Too bad 50 Cent’s posse didn’t recognize Marvelous. “As Albert arrived, with an entourage of one, TNT public relations specialist Jeff Pomeroy, there was a sudden scuffle when a multitude of 50 Cent protectors seemed unfamiliar with Albert. There was shouting (’It’s Marv Albert’ yelled a Kimmel show guard, a pronouncement that seemed to have no effect on the 50 Cent phalanx.) There were obscenities. A fist or two flying. A ‘Don’t you put your hands on me’ pronouncement. And finally Albert made it to his waiting room, relatively unruffled but slightly puzzled. ‘Did you see that?’ Albert said. ‘I thought they were kidding, but then I realized they weren’t.’” [LA Times]

Josh Pastner: He’s been the toast of the college hoops coaching world this week - labeled a prodigy and a magnetic recruiter for a) Nearly upsetting No. 1 Kansas on Tuesday, and b) Hauling in a wicked good (the best?) recruiting class for next year. Everyone loves him … except his jilted old friends in Arizona. These phrases from a horribly homer column had us in stitches: “After KU clocks Josh’s Memphis team” … “at a dreary place like Memphis” … “Pastner’s maturation … that’s the big unknown” … “nondescript Conference USA” … “He’s no Sean Miller, not yet.” [Arizona Daily Star]
We laughed at the barbs Tony Kornheiser fired in the direction of Mike Wise the other day. And then Wise responded. “Tony Kornheiser lost the right to be an ombudsman about good journalism in this town … the moment when he took Dan Snyder’s money. He lost it the moment when he began calling out fans who chanted tasteless things about his new boss in his suite. Sammy Sosa invited radio host Enrique Santos to his birthday party in Miami. Santos, trying to be funny, showed up with a heavy tan (blackface?), and on the red carpet, told the press, “I’m currently using a cream which has darkened my complexion.” Then, a publicist went up to Santos and told him he his joke wasn’t funny and he wasn’t getting into the party.
