If-You-Can-Name-This-Band-Youre-Probably-A-TulipEvery week The Sports Hernia and Cousins of Ron Mexico will recap the top five stories of the week. They are listed by importance, humor and relevance with a high degree of historical perspective in mind. Mostly, we’ll be reviewing the stuff TBL has run into the ground over the last few days, but sometimes a story slips through the cracks. Or some third reason allowing us to bring up something pointless. Read the rest of this entry »

bar-refaeli-lingerie-jan3-11Had some junk in my inbox and there are a bunch of stories that I don’t feel require full posts. Unless you want 12 consecutive one-liners. Also, Bar.

Saw Youth In Revolt last night and really liked it. Funny, different. I recommend it. I also watched Inglorious Basterds for the first time. Great movie, but a little heavy on the subtitles when you’re watching at 2am after a few beers.

We still don’t know anything certain about Brock Lesnar, but his trainers say he will fight again. Hopefully this year. (MMAjunkie)

UFC 107: Penn Defends Impressively, Mir Impresses

UFC 15 Comments »

bj-pennLightweight champion BJ Penn absolutely kicked the ass of Diego Sanchez. Sanchez was the top contender and Penn dominated Sanchez right from the start. He fulfilled his promise to beat Sanchez to the middle of the octagon and that was the closest part of the fight. Penn finished Sanchez in the 5th with a knee that opened a nasty cut that caused a stoppage which resulted in a TKO. I honestly don’t know if there’s anyone that can beat BJ Penn at 155 pounds. kimbo-slice-ufc_mediumKimbo Slice is undefeated in the UFC. Let that sink in for a moment. He’s 1-0. The toughest guy at the barbecue made it into the UFC and won his first fight. If you had told me that I would be writing this a year ago, I would have called you delusional. Somehow though, it happened. Read the rest of this entry »
