Evan Turner, Mack Daddy: The Ohio State star is dating Samantha Prahalis of the Buckeyes' women's basketball team. They both wear the No. 21. They both play point guard and lead their team in assists. Both teams are ranked in the Top 20. Prahalis shoots better than Turner from beyond the arc. The school paper chose a horrible photo of Prahalis. [Lantern] (24)The Roundup: Czabe Blogging Again, Marbury’s Reduced Salary & Syracuse Looks Formidable Again

Softball Player Breaks Ankle Sliding, Sues School Claiming She “Wasn’t Taught How to Slide”
High School Sports, What the hell is wrong with people, Women's Sports 55 Comments »
A 15-year-old high school softball player in Queens, New York, is suing the city and her school because she broke her ankle seven months ago in a sliding drill at practice. The jist of her claim – the coach wasn’t around to teach her how to slide, and six screws and a plate later, she wants restitution. The girl also claims she has been playing softball since she was seven. Are we supposed to believe that in her previous seven years of softball, she never once slid, or was taught how to slide? This court case isn’t quite a woman spilling McDonald’s coffee on herself and filing a lawsuit, but it’s damn near close. Personal responsibility in this country is at an all-time low. [NYDN]
Sara Galimberti Giving Allison Stokke Run for Her Money
Track & Field, Women's Sports 198 Comments »
We seldom deal in attractive women on this site. But, if you’re into that sort of thing, it appears the Italians may have produced a rival to our own Allison Stokke. Sara Galimberti is an accomplished 800 and 1500 meter sprinter. She was also named Miss Lombardia. Lombardia includes Milan and nearly 10 million people so that’s impressive, unlike say Miss New Hampshire. Some more pics (via Big League Screw) after the jump.

Amanda Hanneman and Jessra Johnson, woman’s basketball players at the University of Missouri, were arrested this weekend for allegedly beating up a male cheerleader after an off-campus dispute. The details are about as spectacular as you’d imagine if two female basketball players – Missouri’s two leading scorers – beat up a guy: the male cheerleader suffered a broken nose. One Minnesota high school girls basketball team beat another 65-0 on Friday. The score was 40-0 at the half. Before anyone jumps to conclusions and this becomes a national story about the “lack of sportsmanship in America,” the Associated Press in Minnesota is already on the scene: The winning team, Moose Lake-Willow River, played almost all JV players in the second half; there are no indications a full-court press was employed. The losers, Wrenshall (enrollment: 82 students), missed 11 layups. [Star Tribune, Associated Press]
