But, I still don’t understand why fighting is glorified in hockey, part of the game in baseball, yet horrifying in basketball and football.

who said it was part of the game in baseball??? sure there are dust ups here and there (partially thanks to the DH) but no baseball person i know suggests even for a moment that fighting is part of baseball.

hockey yeah; baseball no way.

Adam Burish, the "agitator" for the Blackhawks, has a blog with the Sun Times and wrote a few posts on the art of fighting in hockey. I think he does a great job of explaining why guys get into fights and the overall purpose for getting into it with someone on the ice.

I’m on the same boat as you, fetch. Not a fan of fighting in hockey. I like the European, or Olympic style, more. The bigger rink helps.

hockey and baseball = “white” sports
football and basketball = “black” sports

the key to making less soggy french toast is to use more egg white than yolk and to use less oil/butter/grease in the pan. and when you add syrup, don’t use that aunt jemima bullshit, get the real stuff, put in a teaspoon of butter and throw it in the microwave…the butter will clarify and keep the syrup from drenching the toast.
