TBL thanks for the links about the NYT story, my biggest issues with them is that they never acknowledge another view point of any story. Along with the fact that their opinion writers only use NYT stories an underlying evidence. The paper is being run into the ground, along with its stock price.

CRM, yes there is. If a team can score to tie the game on the final play of regulation, and then get the ball back to begin overtime, there is a HUGE problem. This isn’t make’em-take’em bush league bullshit.

The only time that back-to-back possessions is fair and appropriate is at the beginning of the second half.

college overtime is what works best

I’m a bitter Saints fan mizerle06. The Saints worked their asses of to get back in that game to take the lead in the 4th quarter.

And then they never saw the ball again, and the Bears scored on back-to-back possessions.

I think, personally that the best way to make this work is to eliminate the coin toss and let the team that had the ball at the end of regulation (provided they didn’t score on the final play) get the ball to begin overtime automatically

Don’t you dare say the Bears won last night because of the coin toss. When it was 17-10 you had to know the Packers were going to lose 20-17. Look at their games this season. If there defense had the ability to stop anyone when they needed to, the’d be a 12 win team.
