I’ve enjoyed majority of your articles and truly enjoyed this one. You maybe called an Uncle Tom or a Sell-out by some, but to me, you are a stud, a hero. Continue to do what you do and dont take any prisoners. Screw lupica, Jesse and Scoop Jackson. Freakin amazing that the ignorant 5, i.e. jesse jackson and his sons, snoop, Al Sharpton, 50 cent, Ice Cube and Tea, get more love and respect than Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Bob Johnson ” founder of BET”, and local law enforcement officers. By the way, the majority has nothing to brag about. They are just as dysfunctional.

yes, the fact that Lupica is an idit does not mean that Whitlock is not. “In your face honesty” is only good if those words are truthful. To whom it may concern,

Jason Whitlock is a talented writer who deserves kudos for his “in your face” honesty. By the way, Jason is correct, its is the posesessive form, it’s = it is.

Anyway, Mike Lupica is a self absorbed “little man” who thinks his word is gospel, nothing could be further from the truth. The guy is five foot nothing and espouses so many negative views and opinions about people who “actually” played sports.

Mike Lupica is a clown who wishes he could have played sports at any level. Mike Lupica telling Tiger Woods and LeBron James anything about their respective sports of endeavor is like me telling Bill Gates and Steve Bahlmer how to run Microsoft. Again, Lupica is an “idiot.”

As far as The “idiot five” is concerned, once again, Jason hit the ball out of the ball park. The “idiot five” are degenerate idiots who believe a pre- requisite of “blackness” is ignorance, crime and acting like “damn fools.”

These are the same fools who are always so quick to cry racism, but will kill someone over a pair of sneakers at the drop of a hat. These are the same fools who always blame “the man”, but don’t support any of their six kids by six different women.

These are the same fools who ostracize and criticize blacks who embrace education, excellence and achievement. As I’ve said many times to friends, family and co-workers, these are the true sell outs.

Mr. Whitlock, continue the good fight, we can’t allow “the idiot” five and the other buffoons and “so called” black leaders ” to represent good, hard working, tax paying, law abiding, African Americans like myself who are sick of the minstrel show.

Check out John McWhorters work if you haven’t already, he’s the author of “Losing the Race” and “Wining the Race.” He’s quite the scholar.

He was the weakest link on Page 2 before and after the deaths of HST and RW. A lot of his articles looked like they were written on the 11th hour and looked purposely subversive. He admits to acting subversive on TV and seems to have no problem admitting that but he doesn’t sound disgusted at all, which is a bit surprising for a guy who’s just left The World Wide Leader. I only agree about his feelings about Lupica and “Scoop”. But totally disagree about his fellating of The Sports Guy and Chadiha but they’re pretty much like Whitlock in many way, but atleast Bill can be funny. I ignore his feelings of black America but I can’t ignore the fact the guy wants to come out as this reincarnation of WEB DuBois but he literally had no idea of Jesse Jackson’s role in civil rights movement. He’s just the poser and opportunist as his target of ire Al Sharpton. See on Oprah, Jason!

if u had such an issue with scoop, why not go straight to him? there’s been numerous interviews with him stating that when he saw you, there was ZERO problems. then when you go over the internet and put another guy on blast (content is another issue for another day), it gives a message that you weren’t much of a professional, or a black man to step to scoop.

Now, if you never addressed him personally, and then claim him to be coonin, then you’re just being disrespectful because he’s tellin a different point of view.

If he’s not tellin the truth about what happened between you two, then i can’t really respect him either.

As a black college student, i really enjoyed reading both of your collums. urs came from an intelligent black man point of view, and scoops broke down life and sports, then put it in lamens terms.

in my opinion, you all are preaching to two different people, but that’s just me

Bojangles is perfect! I’ve felt for a long time, that somewhere along the way, our people lost the way to respect. I called it the “dance N***” syndrome, but bojangles is more apt. Leave it to a journalist to help me find the words to describe the people that need help.
He’s right, this street stuff about buying 120 shoes, even more expensive clothes, that make you look ridiculous, just isn’t right. If your job is comedian, then okay, look like a clown. But, if your job is as hard as mine, and requires professionalism, then grow up, cut your hair, shave your face, smile only when you are getting the respect you earned, and leave the materialism behind.

Jason’s one of the most thoughtful and provocative voices out there. He honestly says what he actually believes and doesn’t seem to care what groups or special interests get angered. I respect that. I also see that he appears to have the cojones to respond to folks under his own name (I assume that’s actually him) on message boards. I respect that too.
