People who speak authoritatively about things they know nothing about should shampoo my crotch.

And as far as sucking up to the big guy, isn’t that exactly what most sportswriters do when they sign on with ESPN? I’d love for some goth chick to punch this guy in the face.

The reason why I like TBL and have grown to dislike Deadspin is because of its singular voice sans weekend editors. I used to love Deadspin when Leitch ran it; you had that sense of familiarity. Now at Deadspin I have to read the byline and try to remember the inside jokes that writer X makes.

I feel the same way. Its amazing how much Deadspin sucks now. Reading Leitch was a blast because of his running jokes and consistent style.

He’s just jealous of our succeeding quest for ultimate sports and popular culture domination TBL Godfather as he fails miserably and in a real democracy would have been double-flushed years ago. Most guys in the media before the internet became a chief forum for sports are douchebags like Cowherd the Cowturd because for the first time in their lives, they have a check on their usual stupid-ass comments from the public-at-large that they did not have before. Furthermore, they can’t cover up when they goof up or get away with as much BS anymore because they don’t have exclusive control of the content any more. Having said that, if you are LBO’d for six figures TBL take the payment in hard currency or assets (or hot asses?) not cash, as the paper will be worthless soon anyway and you’ll be a sucker (i.e. that “Zimbabwe” post you had as an extreme case).

You know, these guys ‘I’m against the man, I’m anti establishment. Well, now they’re all owned by the establishment. Gawker media bought most of them.

i agree with cowherd. obviously he is ranting, and thus contradicts himself quite a bit but his generally point that bloggers think they are too cool for school is right on. obviously it does not apply to EVERY blogger, but the general culture of sports blogs is anti-ESPN/anti-mainstream media. and it really is silly. of course mainstream media is annoying in some ways, but by being “against” it bloggers take on the same behavior patterns that they are criticizing….
