ndub: are you doing the lostpedia rewatch? i’ve done my own rewatch over the past few weeks; i actually only have a few more episodes of season 5 left, but i skipped a lot and just read the lostpedia recaps. from what i’ve seen from the first half of s5, i think ben probably knows a lot more about what’s going on than i thought the first time through. i’ll probably watch season 5 again before the new season starts. one question i have (and since you’re nowhere near caught up, i don’t really expect you to know), but why was there a flash that took jack, kate, hurley, and sayid off 316 and put them on the island in 1977? i thought the flashes ended when locke turned the wheel in 1974.

Gfunk – I’m watching all of them AGAIN. This is my second time through. I’m doing it for the enjoyment and also to pick up on stuff that I know I missed the first time around.

As far as that season 5 flash stuff…. man, that was a twisted season. I’m going to have to rewatch that to give you a straight answer. I think if you rewatch the part of episode ‘316′ in which Eloise Hawking (white-haired lady) is explaining how they’ll return to The Island. It has nothing to do with Locke spinning the wheel. His spins were about what’s going on ON The Island. Ajira 316, I believe, finds a wormhole back to The Island because of its similarities to Oceanic 815. Now, why some go back to 1977 and others to 2007 has yet to be explained.

As far as as the recaps on Lostpedia or anywhere else…. they’re nice, but they do not give much insight into the characters. The flashbacks and (later in the series) flashforwards we’re treated to are very helpful in developing characters and make you like/love/hate/whatever these people. I’d recommend watching as many episodes as you can. Frankly, all of them.

Gfunk – Ugh, I didn’t spend much money in college. Bong rips and $.25 draw night usually. Once i got a job and was young and single and making money and was within walking distance of 20 bars in KC, I was blowing through money. Seems stupid in retrospect, but whatever. What is done is done. Besides, all that money goes into diapers now.
