i am an American and i love soccer…not the MLS crap cuz most of those guys suck, but i watch euro soccer like La Liga cuz the guys like ronaldinho are amazing w their skill. i like football and basketball too, but i cant watch them like i can watch soccer cuz i dont find them as exciting or fun to watch. baseball i can’t stand at all it is incredibly boring. in soccer there arent as many goals but the entire game is building up to those goals so its more exciting when they actually happen. in the town i grew up in in Massachusetts soccer was the kids favorite sport and the most popular kids were the best at soccer, and i played it and loved it. i can’t really explain why i find it so fun, its just the skill of playing and shooting the ball with your foot and getting around people by skillfully moving the ball, theres nothing like it w/ sports like football where you just rely on power to get past people.

Jeez..Such hostility between America and Europe about who has the better sport….how pathetic…what’s even more pathetic is that the people leaving these comments are probably lazy and haven’t even actually played any of the sports they are claiming to be ’superior’…..do you really need to get so heated/angst-ridden about who has the better sport???? Get a life………..

It is obvious that Americans in general were born without a brain and are as stupid as they get. Talk about pussies…the baseball and football players in their tight uniforms look like fucking fags. I mean the football players even touch each other genitals and asses when they make a tackle….it seems as if those homos have enjoy touching each others balls.

I mean who in the hell plays baseball or football..only some fucking stupid nation made up of fat, stupid, and ignorant motherfuckers. Then again, they are so stupid in the US that it does not surprise me that they do not know that there are actually other superior countries out there. What does some fucking country want with 300.000.000 people do against 6 billion…my advice shut the fuck up.

Care to explain that one, Devilreyes? We’ll move on to other sports? Why exactly? Because we wouldn’t be able to beat you? Someone hasn’t been following international sports lately. We’re even handing you your asses on a platter in your own sports, nowadays.

Get back to me when the US can win another Ryder Cup or Olympic basketball gold. Both sports which all of Europe doesn’t give a rats ass about. But don’t worry, we’ll let you keep Baseball and Football. Wouldn’t want to leave you completely empty-handed.

I personally love the game of football (soccer) as an American, but don’t know why guys think they have to say ignorant things like “soccer players are pansies” because they “flop.”

I don’t know about you guys, but to me, taking dives in soccer is no different than faking a charge in basketball or acting like you were the victim of pass interference in American football. Every sport has its own set of actors.

Moreover, the sport is an amazing exhibit of human ability, just like basketball or American football. Can you hit a volley or a bicycle kick? Probably not, just like you can probably not slam dunk against a guy like Shaq or Tim Duncan.

To be able to do what any of these athletes do is a blessing, in my mind.

Like Dirty Sanchez said, why does it bother soccer fans so much that most Americans don’t like soccer? I happen to like it, but I don’t get all defensive and pull out “the rest of the world loves it” crap when someone bashes it.

Along the same lines, why must every American bash soccer every chance they get? To each his own.
