Stopping the NHL season to allow players to participate in the Olympics is an awful idea that has not benefitted the league, players, or fans in any meaningful way. Of course, the International Ice Hockey Federation president stands to gain by a beefed-up NHL presence at the Games, so he disagrees.

Disagree entirely. Love Olympic and international hockey better than the NHL, largely a thug league for the fans, and how I wish a premiere international hockey tourney with the NHL talent was every two years instead of every four.
