I’m sure that Pierce was truely hurt last year too; wasnt he complaining to the coaches that he wanted to play, that he could play, then they shelved him the rest of the year so they could lose a lot and get the top pick in the lottery, OOPS. THIS ORGANIZATION HAS FLAWED LOGIC.

1. They think Pierce is a natural floor leader…. NOT
2. They believe in tanking games to get the top pick…. Backfire
3. They actually accumulate good young talent, only to spurt their load at the first chance of a TITLE OR NOTHING FOREVER scenerio that has about 2 years to pan out at most.
4. They think it only takes 3 players to make the nba finals.
5. Its starting to make sense as to why Paul Pierce is the revered leader of this dismal organization.

… unless of course you’re allergic to the NBA Finals.

Adding 20-12 to a team that already had 20-12 (Jefferson) and giving up a ton of other pieces, albeit mediocre ones, doesn’t suddenly make you the best team in the East. With a Healthy Wade and Shaq, and Toronto improving, Orlando maybe improving (Howard is going to be a great player), and Detroit, Cleveland and Chicago, the Celtics have a long way to go. They will be in the mix, but they are far from a frontrunner.

You all are nuts, drinkin to much of that Green Kool-aid. First remember that LeBron, and Dwane Wade play in the East. Then we have TOP CONTENDERS Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto, Washington with Gilbert and you still have a “reloaded” Nets team to jump that cant seem to find a way to miss or succeed in the playoffs.

This makes the Celtics Better, albiet I cannot fathom how much better when you traded away all the young talent to bring in one guy to play with two other older guys. Keep in mind the C’s have no bench players worth half a turd anymore, and they have no young players to bring along and learn from this trio. Not only does this mortgage the future by losing all the talented pieces, but all you have left on your hands is a new version of the three headed monster in new jersey, the nets, whom have been pluggin this game for the past 5 years. Got um to one? conference title game.

I say the Celtics win right around 40 games MAX. that would be a 16 game improvement from last season.

The thing that I think EVERYONE is forgetting here is that NONE OF THESE THREE ARE LEADERS.

Garnett could be the best PF the game has ever seen, but he cannot lead a team and probably would prefer not to; why do you think he sat up in minny for so long waiting for them to build around him.

Jesus SHuttlesworth has never been a vocal leader on the floor which is what you may expect from a sg, but his consistancy makes him a good player, same as garnett.

Paul Pierce is not a leader, as proven by the fact that the Celts were tanking games in December last season. That is not the breed of leadership.

Put it together, you have 3 guys that have been relatively consistant and rather productive for a LONG TIME ALREADY in the nba. Lack of leadership and role-playing will deterr this team from being a TOP CONTENDER like so many of you homers laughably suggest.

Whoever said Green can only dunk: he’s been improving, he’s still young. Yes, he can dunk. But once he’s developed and he needs time, he’ll be competing for an all-star spot every year.

For those who said the T’Wolves should have done this when Boston offered the #5 pick, who would the T’Wolves had drafted? Connelly was gone, it was too high to pick Acie Law. We pick Noah? Yi? I don’t think the addition of Noah or Yi would have made this trade any better than what it is now.

Go trade, Celtics can compete for a few years, T’Wolves can develop and sign a PG & PF once Ratliff’s contract is up.
