Whether you give the Steelers respect or not is your choice, but to say that the Browns will finish ahead of the Steelers is either foolish or the result of blind homerism.

The Steelers D is sucky and as bad, if not worse than the Browns D? Really?? The same Browns D that finished 27th last year? Strange that you consider the Steelers D-line (which has two Pro Bowl players on it) aging when the Browns are counting on Ted Washington (39) and Steelers castoff Orpheus Roye (34) up front.

Wright and Bodden may be healthy, but that doesn’t make them any good. And honestly now, the Browns couldn’t find a roster spot for a suspect safety like Polamalu? But who knows, maybe Texans reject Antwan Peek (1 sack last year) will make all the difference in the world after all. There’s one way to find out I suppose.

sanchez…same could be said about pitt.

patchwork line – check
few offensive weapons – outside parker and holmes’ potential, check
sucky defense – unproven outside backers, aging d-line, suspect cb’s, poor coverage safeties, wrong personnel for coach’s preferred scheme…check

and for the browns’ d being “sucky…” imagine how an added pass rusher will improve pass defense with healthy corners instead of being forced to START daven holly and ralph brown. plus having a bunch of 300+ lb vets on the d-line and underappreciated and deep lb corps going against a line who’s best player doesn’t want to be there anymore (and the rest of the starters are a notch above crap).

ill give the steelers respect when they deserve it (re: SB XL) and this year, they clearly do not.

Jamal Lewis, Charlie Frye, patchwork O-line, Lt. Winslow, sucky defense. As a Steelers fan, beating up on the Browns is about as exciting as killing an ant with a hammer, but the schedule makers mandate that it must be done. No reason to start Quinn this early in the season; there’s a big difference between pre-season mop-up duty against practice squad players and facing the defenses that the Browns will face early on.

31-7 might be a bit much considering it’s their home opener, but a loss is a loss and moral victories are for Browns and Temple Owls fans.

The Steelers offensive line doesn’t look great, and Faneca’s whining is not helping moral.

Oh, so now we want to protect Brady Quinn? I thought he was PRO-READY. I mean he was only coached by the single greatest genius of the 20th AND 21st century. You know the guy that prepartes QBs for the pros. You know, THAT MAN, Charlie Weiss.

So how in the heck could Brady Quinn not be pro-ready? Or is he only ready for the chumps? Just like he was in college I guess, if its not Navy or Air Force he sucks.

as bad as the browns are on offense, i argue that the steelers won’t be far ahead. all reports from the preseason say the stiller’s o-line is a mess and gives up far too many sacks. that does not bode well against wimbley and peek. is roethlisberger recovered? granted willier parker “should” carry the steelers to a win, but itll be far from a blowout.

it could be the browns fan in me (blind loyalty/optimism + eternal hatred for everything pitt = ???) but i see the steelers occupying the bottom of the afc north this year starting with week one.

Frye gives the Browns the best chance to win week one period. Brady is not ready for what the Steelers would send his way (not to mention the O-line, which might not have Eric Steinbach back this week.) What possible good could come from him starting this week?

Whether or not the Browns win will depend more on how well they can run the ball, and how much pressure they can get on Big Ben. Steelers 31-7? Come on. You are reading too many headlines and ‘expert predictions’, and not enough articles and insightful analysis. The Browns might not win this week, but they will certainly be in this game.

Lose confidence? Brady Quinn? Cmon, from what I’ve been reading the past month, Brady can piss rainbows and shit tulips. Lets see what the Quinn man can do. From all reports he was coached by the greatest coach in the world, kicked the armed forces football teams into next week and changes his hair-do every week.
