As for Stern … the show is great with Artie. Don’t know much about how good it was with Jackie, that was before my time.

The period when Stern had Jackie and Billy was very good, that was some funny ass shit. Jokie wrote all of Stern’s one liners. It’s no coincidence that when he left, Stern all of a sudden had no material.

It’s no coincidence that the quality of Stern’s show took a serious nosedive after Jackie left. Jackie was a major contributor and writer, plus he served as a good foil to Stern whereas Artie is just pleased as shit to have such a cushy gig.

Back when I used to listen to Stern, I would occasionally find Artie funny, but I think Jackie had a sharper comedic sensibility (and yet, he is a terrible stand-up). To each his own…
