With the media/public outrage with “performance enhancers” in baseball, why is it that pain killers are not a big deal? After all, they are no more naturally occurring than testosterone or HGH injections, they do you allow to perform athletically when you otherwise wouldn’t be able to, yet someone is gutty when they pop a few painkillers and get back on the field, while someone is a cheat when they’re juicing in order to become stronger or recover faster.

TBL you could not be more wrong about this book being a revelation to Packers fans back in the Super Bowl years the antics of Favre and his Three Amigos buddies were pretty well known to most Packers fans. Most of them gave it the old nudge nudge wink wink routine.

Remember this is a fan base that saw Max Mcgee and Paul Horning win championship after championship all the while doing stuff that would make Favre seem like a choir boy. McGee is famous for how well he played in Super Bowl one since he has broke curfew and was as hungover as a sailor after shore leave.

It is not that we were not aware of Favre’s faults it is after 30 years of not winning we did not care what he did off the field he won on the field so we looked the other way. Nudge Nudge Wink Wink and that stuff was a decade ago. You never hear about anything going on like this now days.

you also have to remember it is a much smaller pond up here in GB or Milwaukee and Packers players are HUGE fish in that pond it is hard to do anything and not get noticed.

so no nothing in that book would surprise us and most of us would not even bother to read it.

If the inet was big like this towards the end of Elway’s playing days, it would be exactly the same. Elway has plenty of dirt that everyone knows about yet is considered old since it was exposed 10 years ago.

TBL, I disagree about coverage of Favre. Football pundits and the sports blogosphere have been repeatedly bashing Favre over the past 2 seasons.

Dude popped pills and had a shit tun of sex, while he was one of the best players in the NFL? This is OLD news and a cheap attempt at pub by 2 hacks. Yes, I am a Packer fan. GBAY is 3-0, playing rival Viqueens, and Favre is about to set TD record.

oh totally, cheeseheads love favre like coloradans(?) love elway. im just sayin that the womanizing and painkiller/alcohol abuse has been documented before but then again, my response is probably a ton different than someone from GB.

speaking of embattled former iconic QB’s (dont mean to threadjack) but has any non-clevelander seen bernie kosar lately? the dude is falling apart at the seams. sad stuff.
