CRM- he injured his thumb in the playoffs

Bruised sternum is no good for Dwight Howard. I would like to see him skip the Olympics and heal for the regular season.

There is going to be a lot of arguments in Ballin this year if people continue to call him D Ho.

I thought I remembered he hurt his shooting hand during the playoffs. Did I completely imagine that? Then I saw it was his sternum and was confused. I tried to translate my confusion into this post. I see it worked.

Does the International style of ball place much emphasis on big men?

Not really – the use of the trapezoid and the prolific use of zones kind of neutralize post play, as well as the one-on-one perimeter game the NBA thrives on.

Personally, I think part of the reason Carmelo is so valuable to the US team is that, for the one year he was in college at Syracuse, he practiced against/played in one of the better 2-3 zone systems almost exclusively. You can tell it doesn’t bother him as much as some of the other US players.

Offensivly, they can play a small lineup, but aren’t there only 5 fouls a person in International rules? Howard has the ability to literally intimidate players to keep them out of the paint. Quite simply, D-Ho is a monster.

Foul trouble could become a real issue if Howard is injured and they end up playing LeBron at the 5.
