RWH….it’s really closer than you think. Hanley clearly has more power, but Reyes is a lot faster as well as a much better fielder. Both hit for about the same average and have around the same amount of XBH(Hanley 43, Reyes 41). I’m not saying you can’t argue that Hanley is better, but it’s still an argument. It’s not some lopsided debate.

I wasn’t questioning his candidacy this year Duffy, merely pointing out why he has “flown under the radar” until this point in his career. I’m not seeing the feel good story here unless he had a previous problem with hookers and blow.

If you go strictly LF, CF, RF, Ludwick had the best OPS of right fielders.

If anyone doubts Chipper Jones’ Hall of Fame credentials, go back and look at his numbers. They are much better than you think. His career OPS+ is 145, A-Rod’s is 148. He’s a career .310/.406/.549 guy. Six 30+ HR seasons. Nine 100+RBI seasons. WS Ring and an MVP.

Also, if he went by Larry Jones, that would grant him instant starting status in the Reggie Cleveland all-stars.

How is Soto a bad choice by the fans? McCann could easily be the starter, but he isn’t head and shoulders above Soto. Martin is solid as well but shouldn’t be ahead of either of the other two:

Soto: .290/.373/.535 – 16 HR, 55 RBI, 28 VORP
McCann: .293/.363/.547 – 17 HR, 50 RBI 27.1 VORP
Martin: .300/.396/.441 – 9 HR, 42 RBI 26.1 VORP
