It might happen and it might not happen. I can’t predict it. All I know is that there was an opportunity to make the fight happen in the UFC and it didn’t happen.

Oh NO, they can make it abundantly clear all they want, but to not get the Fedor/Couture fight would be very, very bad for them, and they know that. They missed out on the Kimbo farse, which is fine, but if you miss out on Randy/Fedor, then you’re showing you can’t make the biggest fights happen, which would be very, very bad for the UFC going forward.

I gotta tell you, I’ve been downplaying Fedor for the last year b/c he was fighting either freak shows or cans. This is absolutely a great win (look at the problems Tim caused for Nog). I expected an arm bar, but I in no way expected Fedor to stand with him and get inside the jab. I love Randy, but it would really be a shocker if he beat Fedor (to me at least).

At the press conference, Dana admitted that Fedor finally beat someone tonight and called Sylvia a “real opponent.” I was there. He actually said it.

Fedor’s faced a lot of tough fighters. When you check out his record, you’ll see that he’s beaten some tough guys like Nogueira, Cro Cop, Mark Hunt, Semmy Schilt, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Heath Herring and Renato Babalu Sobral. Just because Dana says it, doesn’t make it always true.
