I don’t think there’s anything wrong with PFT, per se. In a discussion of NFL reporters who break news, Florio’s name came up.

Except that Florio doesn’t report news. He rewrites the news, 99% of the time.

Don’t get me wrong: I love the site, but the popularity seems to be going to his head, especially with his off-the-wall opinions and (my bias!) his bashing of Marshawn Lynch.

Schefter is good. But he’s still a young guy (right?). Glazer also has Fox in his corner … fox football > nfl network.

Jay Glazer: Born December 26, 1969

Plus, Schefter has been covering the NFL for most of his adult life, including stints as a beat writer at Denver Post and co-writing a book with Mike Shanahan, Terrell Davis and Bill Romanowski.

I ahve a question…was anyone watching last night as Stuart Scott and Neil Everett did their best stuttering act during the breaking story…Stu Scott starts telling a story about how Brett Favre was so upset about this whole situation and how at teh ESPY’s Favre opened up to Scott telling him the deal and Stu stopped him to say whoa..I am just hear to have a good time I am not working..don’t feel like you need to tell me anything…that right there shows how far ESPN is up Favre’s ass and told me that any semblance of a thought that Stu Scott was and ESPN “Reporter” was tossed out the window..I don’t have video…it was awful

you maybe right though about Jay being on better terms with the front office/coaches (who actually make the decisions), whereas ESPN focuses on relationships with players. That would definitely make sense as well.
