Johnson was not then, and will never be an ideal NBA owner, because he isn't focused on putting a quality product on the court. Anyone that has a reputation for pinching pennies should never get the ok to buy a sports franchise. You can not cut costs and have a successful sports team...it just doesn't work that way. The NBA, and the rest of professional sports teams are the embodiment of "you have to spend money to make money" because excluding maybe 5-6 historic franchises, your team's success is the number one determination of your bottom line.
