LeBron’s X-mas Gift to Yao: One Filthy Block
NBA, Video December 24th. 2008, 8:57amGetting a late jump on today. Blew through the alarm, and for probably the first weekday in months, we slept past 8 am. Posting will be sporadic today, but on Christmas Eve, it’s not like anyone’s glued to their computer anyway.

I like how he made sure to swat it out of bounds so that the Rockets could get the ball back.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:05 am
slacker
December 24th, 2008 at 9:10 am
Oh that clown - he always finds some fault in the things LeBron does.
/shakes head and laughs
What a character!
December 24th, 2008 at 9:14 am
Hey, I am glued to my computer because it is slow as crap here at work!
December 24th, 2008 at 9:15 am
Who doesn’t work on XMas Eve?
/happy to be employed
December 24th, 2008 at 9:17 am
“That basketball will never be the same!”
I forgot how hilarious Fred McLoud is. Just another example of Ohio being happy with Michigan’s rejects.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:17 am
Got a 14% raise last week. Today I hope to learn what my bonus for the year is. I feel like Clark Griswold, though I won’t be putting in a swimming pool any time soon.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:17 am
even i’m here today. get to work buddy!
December 24th, 2008 at 9:20 am
i see myself working about a half-day, with my productivity level around 3%.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:20 am
@Mike- agreed. no point in taking this day off.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:21 am
I too will be at work all day and likely here more than normal because it will be so damn slow.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:22 am
I’m life is raggin on me being at the office today. I say listen bitch somebody has got to pay for that ham in the oven.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I’ll be here all day unless the President decided to go overboard and let us off 1/2 a day…
/crossing fingers
December 24th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Since the market is only open half a day, that means I should only have to work half a day right? Right?
December 24th, 2008 at 9:26 am
@ark - i am estimating my productivity at around 0%. I’ve got the work sitting here in front of me, but I’ve spent the entire morning reading columns and posting comments. I just can’t bring myself to actually work. Feels pointless today when I am the only one here.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:29 am
What no Teixeira post? I was hoping for the 3 peat.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:32 am
@Chelsea… The only issue I have with the Cavs is their announcing crew. McCloud is just awful. Austin Carr is worse. Don’t know anyone that is satisfied with that Michigan reject.
I actually look forward to the Cavs playing on national TV so I don’t have to listen to them.
/Hey! Look! The Cavs played a team with a winning record last night… and still won.
//The excuses will continue to dwindle as the Cavs keep winning.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:36 am
same here sandi. really i’m either looking at sitting here at work, or going to branson to meet my family for the weekend. don’t get me wrong, i want to see my family, but i’m already looking at 4 days in branson and that is more than enough.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Some people have puter access other then at work. And while I’m sure reading TBL at home isn’t nearly as satisfying as when one is reading it while dodging the boss, we are still grateful for what small number of postings we can get on nonwork days
December 24th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Hey look, Yao is backing down, he looks like he wants to score, hey everybody let’s watch………is the Cavs defense that weak? Lebron and whoever is getting bitch slapped in the paint? That’s certainly impressive timing on that block but if the Cavs moved any less on defense they would literally be statutes.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:52 am
on that particular play, yea, it was pretty weak. but go ahead and make ridiculous assertments based on one play, that’s fine.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Especially considering Yao is the best offensive center in the league. But yeah, by all means stop him on every single play or your D sucks.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:55 am
don’t forget holding T-Mac to 4 points…that happens all the time.
December 24th, 2008 at 9:58 am
I always enjoy wathcing Leglobal Byotch try and play defense with that rag tag shitty ass team of his.
Can’t wait for him to hit free agency. I hate to say it, but watching the disappointment of an entire fan base and the utter jubilation of another will be fun.
/I am a Chiefs and Royals fan and there has been nothing but disappointment for the last 10 years or so, so I know what it’s like.
//As a matter of fact I don’t know what jubilation is.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:01 am
sandi: Do you realize the Cavs have the best point differential ever? It’s only 1/3 through the season (obviously), but to call them a rag tag shitty team speaks to how clueless you are about the game of basketball.
Merry Xmas all. I’m out for the wknd.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:03 am
Does point differential mean they are good, or they just drag the game to a halt and keep it close?
/not really clueless, just hate the cavs (mostly just the decisions they make) and Leglobal Byotch
December 24th, 2008 at 10:04 am
merry xmas nick…go cavs.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:06 am
that makes no sense.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:10 am
@Sandi
Me and you buddy. Royals are going to finish 3rd next year. Book it.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:15 am
tribe is finishing first and fausto winning the cy. you can book that too.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:15 am
But it was at home, so under anti-Cleveland TBL commenter rules it does not count. Keep trying.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:36 am
@ spence - I think I asked the wrong question. Not only is my work productivity 0%, my thoughts are just shit this morning and I can’t seem to get them onto the screen right. I’m done bashing Lebron for the day. It’s really only fun when I get it right.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:38 am
@wilson - It’s funny, I absolutely hate baseball….really hate it…but I seem to enjoy putting myself through the BS of getting my hope up and watching the Royals.
December 24th, 2008 at 10:55 am
sandi…im in the same boat, i haven’t done shit this AM and don’t plan on doing shit for the next hour.
December 24th, 2008 at 11:10 am
@slc… I was trying my best to impersonate others on the site… I’m no Cavs hater, believe me.
I appreciate the fact that they are below the national radar since they have Celtic and Laker hard-ons. No problem with me until the Cavs beat that Celtic ass on January 9th and at least 4 other times come playoff season.
December 24th, 2008 at 11:19 am
I know Wally, I was trying to impersonate the Cav haters.
I agree with you, until the Cavs do it in the play-offs they are the underdogs.
I wish the Jazz would get healthy and acquire a big body as I would love a Cavs-Jazz final. The NBA and the rest of the country probably would not be as happy.
December 24th, 2008 at 11:26 am
fuck them, then. go cavs.
December 24th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Kenny Walker appreciates the way he swatted it out of bounds.
December 24th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
LeBron should’ve asked Yao how his ass tasted after that block.
December 24th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Terrific block, LeBron is an f’ing beat this year. Actually playing defense (more as a rover and weakside shot blocker and stealer than get in your face.. but he’s show the ability to do it at time. ).
Cavs are built to win a title. They’re balanced, their deep, they’re versatile - and their coach coaches defense. The Lakers, not so much. Funny that they added Mo Williams and everyone not realizes how stacked they were, when I called it a year ago. If you’re a Laker fan, would you not seriously trade supporting casts and coach straight up? Seriously?
I know it’s been common wisdom how “stacked” the Lakers are, and sure, they have many scorers. But they are not a title team. The Cavs are stacked both offensively and defensively.
