I don’t have to go back to work until January 5, but I’m up early for some odd reason. Singletary was on Letterman the other night

December 26th, 2008 at 9:57 am
Not as brave as the poor people who have to work the returns desk at a retail store today. I don’t wish that headache on anyone.

i did that in high school when i worked at american eagle—worst days of my life

We have confirmed it’s him (funny thing about the internet), and Jacobs is going to interview him later this week for JSB. I appreciate his ability to respond to criticism however harsh and, for that matter, his analytical philosophy. Too many ESPN analysts change their picks on a whim, or declare a week two Cowboys-Eagles game as “must win.€
This guy really needs to read the Katz vs. Huggins post last week. The one where Katz says that he was obligated by management to make an upset pick that he didn’t actually believe.
And in non-roundup-related news, does the media realize that they are not contractually obligated to tell us everything that T.O. says?

Awesome. The things we put up with when we’re in High School. I worked at Sports Authority during Christmas and I remember not giving a shit. I would have taken back anything. This one lady was returning football cleats that looked like her son had worn for an entire season. They were grass-stained, the cleats were worn down a bit. They even looked like they had dog shit on them. I gave her the full return price. If I had to work on Christmas, I wasn’t taking shit from bitchy moms.

I recently discovered that teaching high school is a lot like working the return desk the day after Christmas–for 180 days a year.
/what the hell was I thinking?

Alabama closed some corporate tax loopholes and made cuts to colleges and universities.
Ahhh, that helps explain Gene Chizik

same here its already the worst day for retail workers and i wasnt about to compound my misery by getting into an argument about why i cant give you full return price w/out receipt
the worst are the people who shout at you because you cant give them cash only store credit or whatever
jay im married to a 1st-3rd grade special ed teacher i would bet she would agree with your statement 100%

just saw enough comments on here to keep me away from the stores today. plus, i really dont need anything. if i told you guys how much i spent on clothes for myself this year, you’d laugh.
actual money out of my pocket, which doesn’t include gift cards from b-day, wedding or xmas, and it was definitely under $400. thats the cool thing about getting hitched and working from home - maybe the wife will buy you stuff, you dont need to get dressed up for work daily, and you dont need to get new cool gear to hit the bars and meet women
December 26th, 2008 at 10:58 am
But its cool new gear! My dad is 52 and he is still buying crazy stuff like that.
December 26th, 2008 at 11:02 am
I need to get an adequate set of golf clubs, and I have a gift card to go toward it, but do I brave the crowds to do something that I know will piss me off?
December 26th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Miss Sinaloa and a trash bag full of the good stuff didn’t show up yesterday, now I know why
December 26th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Haha, so the Lakers got revenge for getting embarassed in the Finals by winning a December game? That’s cute. Good for them.

Good thing I quit smoking almost two years ago, and no longer work for the state, er, Commonwealth.
