January 29th, 2009 at 8:17 am

the lost post is going to be fun!
January 29th, 2009 at 8:22 am
As much as you like to Monday Morning Politick, you should consider running for office.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:26 am
Was hoping for more money on infrastructure spending. Particularly considering our Blutarsky-like grades that came out this week.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:36 am
no shot, sanders. i just like to pay attention to some of it. and i obviously try to let all my friends and family know how bad it’s getting – they’re at work all day, and im surfing the web and reading all the doom and gloom links.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:39 am
Yeah, the country’s pretty much in the shitter. I really enjoyed this story the other day that points out who we can all blame for this mess.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:40 am
I fucking hate Nancy Pelosi.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:45 am
I can’t pinpoint why, but that made me laugh out loud.
Anyone have any idea exactly how bad Summers’ ankle/foot is? The word “torn” is being thrown about.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:52 am
The fall of Miami Hurricanes hoopster Edwin Rios is a sad one
well written post
There’s a correlation between rebounding and the NBA title
another good read
Kevin Love should be in the rookie game over Greg Oden
January 29th, 2009 at 8:52 am
there’s too many people to blame … it can’t just be bush, it can’t just be paulson, it can’t just be obama. but yeah, we’re fucked.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:53 am
yet another foolish, wasteful, stimulus bill …
How would it look if Obama did nothing? Even if nothing was the best thing to do?
How do people predict the results of these stimulus packages when this is all unchartered territory?
January 29th, 2009 at 8:54 am
I had high hopes for the Dems, thinking they may have learned from past mistakes. NOT! Here we go again. I have no problem with building projects and infrastructure, as it actually takes workers being hired to complete these projects, but a lot of the other stuff is just JUNK.
The GOP, if smart, could have a field day in two years, and maybe in four.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:54 am
I fucking hate Nancy Pelosi. Sponge
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Anybody see where the stimulus plan is modifying the first time home buyers tax credit? As of now it’s to be paid back in installments of $500 a year for 15 years to make up the zero % loan of $7500. Now they have amended it to an actual tax credit, that doesn’t have to be paid back. I just got interested, considering I’ve already filed for it.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am
I’m a Democrat and was excited to see they had substantial control in both Houses but I’m now thinking Obama will be unable to do anything with Libtards like Pelosi in there. She was a big reason the Stimulus passed along party lines.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Well, let’s not go sucking each other’s dicks just yet. Obama would have to exhibit Warner or Roethlisberger-like ball security over the next couple years for that to happen.
January 29th, 2009 at 8:58 am
Any members of Congress (House or Senate) that anyone actually likes?
January 29th, 2009 at 9:00 am
I like this line from the article:
i’m sure they won’t see it as a negative return on investment when gas goes up again and we are able to increase public transportation and renewal energy to offset the high cost of oil.
this article is relatively short sighted with a solid case of tunnel vision.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:01 am
The 1st step was yesterday when their Leadership got all of them to vote no on the stimulus. If the stimulus doesnt work that well then they are going to look very good and be in position to say “I told you so” which is the best part about politics. IF it works though then they might still be exiled for a little longer.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:01 am
the GOP will definitely have a field day in 4 years. first, they’ll need a candidate …
as for congress, i still want to see which way my local guy went. i wrote him when the first bailout was happening, and if he fucked it up again, i may just help out the other guy on his next campaign.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:03 am
I like John McCain. And my two senators (Specter and Casey)
January 29th, 2009 at 9:04 am
Maybe we should, you know, see how it works out first. The one thing this society could use more of, it’s patience.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:09 am
Based on what, Obama’s first week in office? You guys seriously need to calm down. Bush had a 91% approval rating less than a year into his first term and we saw how that worked out. I know treating every “possible” misstep like it’s the apocalypse is fun and all, but maybe we should just see how it plays out…
January 29th, 2009 at 9:11 am
Fuck that: DRILL, BABY, DRILL! DRILL, BABY, DRILL!
January 29th, 2009 at 9:12 am
the GOP will definitely have a field day in 4 years.
Really? You know this already?
January 29th, 2009 at 9:12 am
I concur. On the other hand, though, if I were the Republican House leadership I would do exactly what they are doing. Vote against everything. You have no incentive to vote with the Dems — the bills are passing whether you like it or not — and all credit, and all blame, will go to them. So you vote against everything and hope it fails.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:15 am
Too bad Palin was talking about her ass.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:19 am
Who’s the bottom chick?
Got a little white trash going on, but I dig it.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:21 am
if I were the Republican House leadership I would do exactly what they are doing. Vote against everything.
Doesn’t this happen everytime one party has control of the House, Senate and Presidency?

It happens when one party has a huge majority in the House. When the party advantages are smaller there it becomes harder to control all your members.
The Senate, generally, is less partisan. Many of them are powerful enough that they don’t need to stick to party affiliation for voting. Votes still do occur along party lines, but not to the extreme or as the House.
The stimulus bill will likely receive some significant Republican votes in the Senate.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:32 am
Kevin Love shaft is a joke. He is arguably the most productive rookie in the NBA and is by far the best rookie over the last few weeks. Beasley is a joke of a choice.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:33 am
Our three are fantastic.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:36 am
by the way, I don’t have to watch the Federer-Roddick match now, sweet. At least I don’t have to avoid ESPN all day now.
January 29th, 2009 at 9:37 am
R. REP. Fred Upton from Michigan.Ive met this guy on several occasions. Senator Carl Levin (D) from Michigan is good too.
January 29th, 2009 at 10:03 am
yet another foolish, wasteful, stimulus bill
So what would you do, genius? Seriously, TBL, I want to know. Because in a crisis like this, if you want to criticize the action actually being taken then you had better have an alternative suggestion.
January 29th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Buy gold. Lots of it. Also, kick the Mexicans out of my country.
January 29th, 2009 at 10:22 am
Clown your forgot to add buy guns.
January 29th, 2009 at 10:41 am
Can’t you just steal the gold from the Mexicans on their way out?
January 29th, 2009 at 11:39 am
@ Jayhawk Rach:
I’m speculating, but TBL would like Peter Schiff as President and a world environment similar to that of I Am Legend or 28 Days Later, where TBL can sit in his moated castle and watch Lost (a stupid show) all day eating fuddy-duddy.
January 30th, 2009 at 12:00 am
Almost a day later, and TBL, economy expert, still has not given us a single alternative idea. You’re like the GOP Congress, TBL. All smoke…
