I’m sure in some way it feels nice to finish your degree, but I always think athletes who do this are trying to get some good PR for themselves in the process.

I would like to hear him analyze the graduation ceremony.
“Yep, there goes James, he’s walking across the stage…and he’s got the degree in hand!!”

In this case, I agree. 20 years out is a bit long to wait if you really cared about your degree, especially considering he was only 2 credits shy. However, most cases I feel a lot of the athletes really care about getting the degree…mainly because they don’t alert the press that they’re getting them.

one of my high school friends that went to j-school at mizzou always brings up that Brad Pitt was something like 3 or 4 credits away from a degree there.
