Just because they sue him doesn’t mean anything is going to come of it. It’s going to court, it hasn’t been settled or ruled on. If the court rules in favor of the Mexican Nationals then feel free to throw a fit. Until then, shouldn’t you calm down a bit? recc4- The Championship game was pretty good last night, but the biggest thing to me is that it’s always Harvard that plays in the classics. Both of their games this year were ridiculous and last year’s championship game was great, too.

fetch, i was really pumped up. i graduated h.s. with the kid who won the MVP so that was pretty cool, and yeah harvard does tend to play in the classics. was talking to a kid that works with the BU team today and he said cronin flipped out on some student reporter in the press conf after the game. would have liked to have seen that, you could tell he wants to blow a fuse when he’s pissed off he is a hothead but a good coach.

CJ and RWH – big difference between illegal immigrants and immigrants. My entire family came over legally, starting about 30-ish years ago. None of them came here illegally, or came here on a green card and then never left … all legally.
ive done a 180 in the last three years on the issue, and i believe we should really tighten up the borders.

TBL…I think historically immigration is a hot button issues used by politicians and others to scare people who fear losing their stake in life. Could border security be better. Absolutely, but I happen to have dealt with tons of illegal immigrants in my life and for the most part they are here for the same reasons your family came here, to better themselves. Are there bad eggs? Sure but we have plenty of legal assholes too. I have yet to see an illegal immigrant come into my office and take my job. They are cheap manual labor. Last I checked, I couldn’t get legal people of any sort of responsible social stature take those jobs seriously. It is sad and it is a fact.

If they were in his yard, doesn’t he have the right to detain them until the proper authorities arrive? If a burglar trespassed on your property, aren’t you allowed to hold them until the police get there? Being that they’re illegal immigrants, they had already broken the law. I’m not saying I’m for or against illegal immigration, but that’s kind of messed up for this guy.
Even if he wins, he still had to cough up legal fees to defend himself. What’s he going to do? Counter sue?

On schools and Jobs…tax money certainly is put into those places but we act as if they are getting tremendous health care and schooling not one person here would want to go to a school in some of the neighborhoods the illegals live in (an if illegals have a kid the kid is a citizen) and I say drop your health care and then go to some of the public hospitals and clinics and tell me how great they have it with their free health care

TBL…One of my best friends is a Dr. In Texas…she complains about it but she would be there whether illegals came in or not. No I am not defending anything that way. The government would have these clinics set up regardless so don’t act as if the illegals are why the clinics are there and that THEY are wasting our tax money. It is a Red Herring…it is up there with Abortion and Gay Marriage as easy political issues that people have strong opinions on but nothing in the end will change. Immigration discussion goes back as far as the 1700’s and became mor prevalent in the 1840’s and frankly anytime the National economy takes a downturn.
As for Rick…I don’t know what kind of racial diatribe he went on, I know his ethnicity so I doubt it went against blacks…but you allow someone named “Tar Baby” to comment here and that maybe the most insulting thing I have ever seen so if Tar Baby can post so can Rick

Protection of Property: you are allowed to use reasonable force to protect your property. Deadly force is not reasonable (you can’t use a gun if someone is trying to steal property of yours). In some states there are exceptions, particularly if someone is breaking into your house. In that situation, some states allow use of deadly force, particularly if you are in reasonable fear of your life. The burglar example isn’t a good example, because you can use a gun to detain him, as you would be in reasonable fear of your life (if you dropped the gun he may shoot you).

I have to be honest – I didn’t read the link… and I don’t know Arizona law. I just wanted to point out that the burglary analogy isn’t a good one, since most states recognize that a reasonable person would use deadly force to protect themselves from a burglar (note the difference between protecting ones self and protecting property… you typically cannot use deadly force (a gun) to protect property). If a reasonable person would not feel physically threatened, then (in most states) no guns can be used.
