Marbury Finally to the Celtics?
College Basketball, NBA February 24th. 2009, 6:16pm
WCVB-TV in Boston is reporting that Stephon Marbury has finally been bought out by the Knicks, and the Celtics will be adding him to the roster after the one-time star clears waivers. We’ve got no idea as to the veracity of this story, and we stopped following the worthless exploits of this clown months ago. Why the Celtics would want to add this joker to the roster remains a mystery.
Slow but pivotal night in college hoops: Florida visits LSU. The Tigers have been a quiet surprise – 11-1 in SEC play – and last lost exactly a month ago. We’ve yet to hear anyone tout the 23-4 Tigers as a potential factor in March.
No. 1 Pittsburgh has a dangerous trip to Providence. The Friars are desperate one a significant victory, and if the Panthers have been reading the clippings, perhaps the media gassing goes to their head. Tough to go against Pitt the way it is playing now, but when the masses head one way, it’s not a bad idea to go the other.
There’s also Boston College hosting Florida State in an ACC battle of two inconsistent teams that will be bounced during the first weekend of the NCAA tourney.

Florida State is inconsistent? 21-6, with the only bad loss being @Northwestern. Otherwise…losing to Duke, UNC (last second shot), Pitt, and @Wake and @Miami are nothing to sneeze at. They have a nice win @Clemson, and boast one of the tallest teams in the nation, plus an excellent guard in douglas. Definitely not a team any 1 seed wants in their bracket (Lunardi has them as a #4).

Why in God’s name would the Thunder pick him up? They aren’t in contention, they can’t make a run, they have a great cap situation without him, even if he contributed positively it would only hurt them in the long run (lottery chances), and he would take touches away from Westbrook. Dumb.

if psu beats illinois again, they should beat Indiana and Iowa…and that will probably get them in. 11-7 in Conference. 10-8 in conference probably doesn’t get them in, though, especially if this OSU game remains a blow-out.
If Providence wins this game against Pitt, they should be in.

Yeah, if by “slaughered Indians” you mean “didn’t see combat”…I just pointed out he did have some military experience, if only in the strictest sense (if I remember correctly from my childhood book of lincoln quotes and short stories, he didn’t know the command to get his company to go through a fence gate, so he dismissed them and told them to reform on the other side of the fence in 10 minutes).

If a black guy who has a huge voting base barely got through the primary of the party that tends to be more ‘progressive’ with race issues, an Indian has about zero chance to get through the primary of the GOP unless the Indian voting base explodes in the next four years. Can’t exactly see him winning the South Carolina primary.
