A-Roid vs. Jeter: “Earlier in the day when I asked A-Rod about the Mets shortstop’s laser running ability, he said, ‘I wish he was leading off on our team or playing on our team; that’s fun to watch.’ ‘Our team’ happens to be the Yankees, which has Jeter at short and Johnny Damon leading off. Shortly after A-Rod made his statement, he sent word through a WBC official that he did not mean anything negative toward Jeter. Too late, the blogo-sphere was off and running with the quote, and once again A-Rod was being criticized for saying the wrong thing, even though he was simply trying to praise Reyes.” Overreaction?
