whats the date on the simpson photo? .. nice turn around if its recent.

on the newsweek piece – people, all people do not like taxes. we’re American and hate taxation. any increase at any level is going to enrage that segment of the population. blame who you want, but the man who signs it into law is going to catch hell.

the bit about the previous administration’s lack of oversight on wall street causing the need for TARP is silly. yet another writer over simplifying and casting blame at a generic target. the economic situation has created a lot of holiday inn express economic/finance experts.

don’t forget to point out the genius dentist who would rather cut $70k in income to avoid than pay an additional $2500 in taxes per year. Great way to look at the big picture, probably listens to Rush in the mornings, too.

I would guess that either the dentist doesn’t exist or she’s just hot after her accountant broke the news to her that she’s going to have to create some write offs. She will never turn down biz to reduce taxes, no way in hell.

Just like everything else in this over sensationalized America, the issue is hot and publications want to print the dramatic.

- I thought it was okay. Obviously, the graphic novel loses some of its luster in translation, and I think the director was trying to be funny with the music cues he used, because they certainly were. The most hilarious sex scene since Munich, Goode’s American accent went in and out and Malin Ackerman was miscast. But Earle Haley was awesome, the first 15 mins are fantastic and some of the scenes really are tremendous. All in all, I’d give it a C+, B-, somewhere in there. People seem pretty split on it, though. They either love it or think it’s terrible, while I’m firmly in the middle.
