Because Curry Had to Be in a Tournament
2009 Culture Tournament March 11th. 2009, 12:30pm
The bottom half of the Erin Andrews bracket features two characters everyone loves to hate: Stephen “NIT” Curry and Bill Simmons. (Fear not: This is the only bracket with ESPN folks. Todd McShay and Mel Kiper will do battle elsewhere, but most folks dislike them greatly and neither stands a chance of doing much damage. Let’s consider them Big 10 teams.) Darkhorse: one-time TBL interviewee Roger Goodell, who likely will spend today pondering Matt Jones’ latest arrest and whether or not he needs to intercede in the Jay Cutler situation like he did in the Favre saga last year. And if you didn’t vote in the earlier post, go vote now.

I was wondering as I saw it before the jump, if Steph Curry’s mom could be subbed in for him, well played, TBL.
Fuck you Bud Selig. And you too, Nadal. Wear some real fucking pants.

first, Greg O-done. now, Steph curry. next year, i will put money on Blake Griffin being the new “Hype Machine” on this site
March 11th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
Steph can’t help it he’s all his team has. Still should’ve won the conference though.

What’s that trick that you hit F-something to get your avatar to show up? I’m launching an all-out assault on my avatar having not shown up for something like a year now. Dammit. I did everything so far, what’s the buttons I hit though?

Gee, it wouldn’t be a post without another Oden put down.
/Secretly thinks irishmafia loves Greg Oden, but is just too scared to go public.

Speaking of Blake Griffin, the Thunder are 5-1 in this stretch without Durant. He better get back into the lineup quick so they can start losing games again, or else those 1-2 punch dreams may be dashed.

had to pass on that one. don’t know anything about either one.
March 11th, 2009 at 12:47 pm
@wally- i found it funny how many people on this site thought so highly of the kid. you are one of the biggest O-Done apologists on this site
March 11th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
irish, are you taking in any of the excitement that is the sec tournament down there? if i were you, i would pass.
March 11th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
@ark- nah. i went to the NCAA tourney down here last year and had a great time
March 11th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
SELIG? really??
March 11th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
SEC Tourney sucks balls. Last year was better because people almost died.

Tough to rip a kid that took your school to the final game of the NCAA tournament in his one year, virtually all with his shooting hand in a cast. He is a classy kid, without entourage or need for the Me Me Me…
Sucks that he has been hurt since he has been in the Association. Mentally, he wasn’t ready to go pro. He wanted to be a college kid. Financially, it was smart. Even smarter considering his knee problems.
It did take Amare well more than 1 year to get back to a semblance of what he was before courtesy of the bad knee. I’d love to think Oden could start playing at a high level by next year.
And, if that makes me an apologist, than so be it. I’ll accept it.
Now, can we talk about your love for a Polock who plays 11 minutes a game and scores 3 points per? That seems a bit misguided.

I didn’t vote for Selig. I voted for Selig’s cluelessness. His mental midget capacity will go strong in this culture tournament.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
who, Polish Hammer? i would love to talk about him. What do you want to know?
March 11th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
What he said.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Fucking shit. I’m at the point with this avatar thing that I literally don’t know what to do.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:11 pm

I did all that, and still no dice. I’m about to dropkick an orphan.
Screw it, I guess I’m gonna roll as is. It’ll probably start working someday when I stop coming on TBL. Thanks for the try though.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
what happened Wally? i thought you wanted to talk about Polish Hammer
March 11th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
wow depaul
March 11th, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Billy, it can’t be that hard to do. I did it.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:13 pm
One would think. I’ve done exactly everything I’m supposed to do, to no avail. Whatever.

Oklahoma City has now moved to 5-1 since Durant got hurt. Claiming he would have been a better pick than Oden is one of the weakest arguments Ive heard in a while. Durant is a poor man’s Glenn Robinson. Only his team wins less and his stats aren’t as good.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Durant is a poor man’s Glenn Robinson
too funny
March 11th, 2009 at 3:35 pm
More sad (if you like Durant) than funny.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:35 pm
wow.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
20.7 6.1 2.7 1.2 0.6 45.9 34
22.7 5.3 2.6 1.1 0.9 45.5 35
So Robinson is only slightly better, but factor in winning and its not even close.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
are you high right now Duder?
March 11th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Hell, I’ll say the same thing about Durant that I said about Oden, too early.
That, and Durant isn’t an epid douchebag, a la Robinson.
March 11th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
Epic, I meant epic. It’s been one of those days.
