First of Five Great Days of College Hoops
2009 Culture Tournament, College Basketball March 11th. 2009, 6:30pm
And we’re not even to the tournament yet! Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything that’s going on for the next few days in the major conferences. Tomorrow, we’ll be glued to our TV from noon onward. Before we get to a dreary, Lost-less Wednesday, we move onward with the Culture Tournament (you voted earlier today, right?).
No. 1 Megan Fox vs. No. 16 Tracy McGrady’s career
- Megan Fox (92%, 1,445 Votes)
- Tracy McGrady’s career (8%, 131 Votes)
Total Voters: 1,576
Megan Fox, a few years ago. Megan Fox now.
No. 8 Matt Saracen vs. No. 9 JD McCoy
- Matt Saracen (75%, 491 Votes)
- JD McCoy (25%, 162 Votes)
Total Voters: 653
No. 5 Jon Scheyer’s travel vs. No. 12 Elliott Williams’ travel
- Jon Scheyer’s travel (63%, 412 Votes)
- Elliott Williams’ travel (37%, 244 Votes)
Total Voters: 656
Scheyer running around. Williams moonwalking.
No. 4 Broke NBA Players vs. No. 13 Juicing MLB Players
- Broke NBA Players (53%, 392 Votes)
- Juicing MLB Players (47%, 341 Votes)
Total Voters: 733
While gorging yourself on college hoops tonight, keep an eye on the NBA scoreboard. The Lakers, coming off a drubbing in Portland, visit Houston. Chicago, coming off the back-breaking 2OT loss at Miami, and still fighting for a playoff spot, travels to Orlando. Boston at Miami has playoff value. So does NY at Detroit.

I take it Fox is the number one overall seed, then? Is that how she gets such a patsy in the first round? And what the hell happened to Megan Fox in the years between? Does Brian Austin Green’s dick cause cancer like Dr. Manhattan’s?
March 11th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
I really wish i knew what all this meant. oh well, ill keep voting
March 11th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
What show are those young Megan Fox pics from?
I thought Transformers was her first…well, anything.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
megan fox will be hospitalized for “exhaustion” in about 2 years. and exhaustion is hollywood speak for “too much coke”
March 11th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
Why would you put something like this in the middle of championship week?
March 11th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
They’re from a sitcom that got canned after a few episodes. She’s mostly been on shitty teen shows. She’s now upgraded to shitty movies marketed to teenagers. Oh, and TBL.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
I cannot comprehend the sheer amount of Megan Fox love… She has a God-awful tatoo on her forearm. She doesn’t have blinding talent. She has yet to show the propensity to show off her seemingly amazing rack (do we even know if they are real?).
March 11th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
1) not everyone minds tattoos B) Who cares about talent 3) Who cares if they’re real
March 11th, 2009 at 6:44 pm
I see a 12 v 5 upset in the making. You can argue that Scheyer was fouled after 3 or 4 steps. Williams moonwalk was un-assisted.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
She looks incredible in those early pics.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
I can’t believe tracy mcgrady’s career managed to get 5 votes.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
Fox probably looked her best on two and a half men. She had a little meat back then, which was nice.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
tmac actually had/has talent. megan fox as far as i can tell blew the right producer/movermaker and that is the only reason we know of her existence.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
That tattoo is horrible, but I’m sure if you were sleeping with her you could get past it. I don’t think anyone’s ever referred to Megan Fox as “talented.” Most actresses who fall in her category, the Elisha Cuthbert, Jessica Alba-type, aren’t talented. But hot, they definitely are.
Oh, and fake breasts are just as fun as the real thing, IMO. Can’t tell that big a difference. But she looks about 40 times better in those early photos.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
moviemaker*
March 11th, 2009 at 6:58 pm
I don’t know if that’s exactly the way it happened, but it’s probably not far off. There are quite a few waitresses/aspiring actresses in L.A. who are probably just as hot or close to as hot as Megan Fox. A lot of it’s luck and timing. When I was in college I was in L.A. for a convention and one of our waitresses at Saddle Ranch was the girl who ended up being Starbuck on BSG. I only remembered her because of her crooked tooth.
March 11th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
me neither. You could’ve had T-Mac career against Mo Clarett’s career and I still wouldn’t vote for “Mr. 1st round”.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:01 pm
Things are tough all over. Sesame Street just laid off 20% of its staff.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:22 pm
how unhealthy are you if you forgot how good a appled tastes? yes iam talking about me. i just had my first apple in like years and it was the shit.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
I’m not a big fan of apples myself.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
ND looking tourney ready, only down 23-6 12 mins in.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
TBL, what’s your read on Providence? Do they need to win tomorrow, or just keep it relatively close?
March 11th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Matt Saracen
JD McCoy
Who are these guys? I want to be an educated voter.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
dudes from friday night lights i didnt know them either and had to look them up.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:32 pm
Oh, never seen the show. I shall abstain. Thanks.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
rampage will have to wait to get his title back. he apparently has cock sucking syndrome and needs to get it fixed.

Somebody is going to die on Lost before the season ends (and it isn’t Kate)… Nothing like a little teaser on a Lost-less Wednesday night!
March 11th, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Good! A chance for me to vote against Megan Fox. She sucks donkey balls! Oh and she’s not that hot.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Wally -
Quick thought… Jin?
March 11th, 2009 at 8:05 pm
Romo I voted against that bitch too. Not because shes not hot but because T-Macs career is alot better than hers. When that bitch is up for a golden globe come holla at me.
/Transformers sucked cock
March 11th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Shocking!
March 11th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
@bsanders: Saddle Ranch is a great place to drink your breakfast. They’re ridiculously generous there.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
irish rally, only down 9 at the under 4 to …
March 11th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
Steve Smith needs a new punching bag
March 11th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
bsanders-saw that. They thought they had America fooled.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
Oh yeah, when I lived in LA I spent many a late morning/early afternoon getting bombed there. Great place to spot talent, too.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:00 pm
a good showing by providence could go a long way. lose by 5 or less and it’s probably enough for them to get in.
i’d say they’re in 63-67 territory right now … and they need any other fence sitters - the entire big 10, usc, florida, kentucky - to all lose and eliminate any doubt
March 11th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
how come people dont hate luke harangody as much as they do tyler hansbrough? he has 2 of 3 the requirements for such hate.
1 is he white? check
2 does he put up good stats? check
3 is he ona good/great team?
two for three isnt bad.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
mrejr, Harangody seems to have some skill…unlike “Take 6 steps, lower shoulder, draw ridiculous foul, shoot foul shots, repeat” Hansbrough. Also, he doesn’t look like Beaker.
I could write 3000 words on why Hansbrough is quite possibly the most overrated player ever in 15 minutes easy.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
this sounds like dwyane wade’s game plan but everyone is pole jocking him.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
This is bringing back memories of Cool Rick.
/shudders
March 11th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
You’re saying you want to fight him, aren’t you?
March 11th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Wade has a gold medal, Hansbrough flops on the perimeter against Greg Paulus. Does that clear things up?
March 11th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
now i think i know what happened.
/newbie’d
March 11th, 2009 at 9:26 pm
What happened to that creep, anyway? He finally got banned?
Him and his “law degree.” Ha. Always made me laugh. I don’t think I ever saw him once construct a proper sentence (or argument, for that matter.)
March 11th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
how come people dont hate luke harangody as much as they do tyler hansbrough
Because ND is awful.
Yeah, what the hell ever happened to Cool Rick? I also have an APB on Jay the Most Hated.
Re: Palin’s kid. What are the rumors that were mentioned in the article?
March 11th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
i just heard about this cool rick and the alleged “fight”
what a joke.
weakest moment of Lost this season: sawyer, juliet et al go through the fence … start frying like bacon (dazed and confused)
March 11th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
i get love letters from him weekly.
GO CUSE!
March 11th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
lol
lol
go to youtube, and you see this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab49LED0lNk
“i’d like to meet hilary clinton, im a poly sci major.”
first person i’ve see do an interview, wearing a bikini, talking about obama.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
A close loss to Louisville will not do anything for Providence. Minnesota beat Louisville easily, so no chance they get in over them. If Michigan loses to Iowa they might not make it, but it certainly wont be Providence taking their bid. Penn St basically has to lose to Indiana for Providence to have any argument getting in over a B10 team. Even Northwestern has a better RPI than Providence.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
TBL -
Did anything get settled on the pool?
weakest moment of Lost this season: sawyer, juliet et al go through the fence … start frying like bacon (dazed and confused)
Squeal like a pig, freshman bitches!
/paraphrased.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
poly sci majors are as useful as their completely useless liberal professors.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Both right, Hansbrough and Wade are easily tops in their sport at getting completely unjustified fouls called against opponents.
Nothing will ever top the ‘06 Finals. It was literally stolen from Dallas.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
unless of course minnesota loses to northwestern in the opening round.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Yeah but then Northwestern jumps Providence anyway.
There is no way you can want Prov in the tourney if you saw them play today. They are an NIT team.
Dazed and Confused = Best movie of all time.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
well i believe that dumb college whores was one of obama’s main demographic. and now they elected him president….way to go dumb college whores.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
Harangody would be hated on more if didn’t look like an innocent Cabbage Patch kid.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
TBL is taking the Clemens approach.
March 11th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
great game between celts and heat
March 11th, 2009 at 10:05 pm
i hate that the cuse are letting seton hall hang around. not a good sign.
saw plenty of providence today … weren’t you in the comments during hte game?
big east > big 10 so yeah, providence could easily jump northwestern and penn state
March 11th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
New South Park is on. Good Stuff.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
im taping it tampa.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
butters is the man.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Michigan State: Lucky or good?
March 11th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Nice.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
New South Park is on. Good Stuff.
Watching it. Hoping for a great third act. Kind of eh so far.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Good Christ, did Andre Smith have to run the 40 shirtless? That’s the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen. Sloppy body in motion is scary.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Never thought I’d say this, but the Robert Morris/Mt. St. Mary’s game is a good one.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Florio is killing him today, BSanders.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
you must be a jonas bros. fan. this shit is hilarious and now we got mickey mouse. priceless
March 11th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Ok. Great third act. Kenny is so getting a blowjob.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
poor mt st. mary’s
March 11th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
He should be. His body looks terrible. You can tell he’s been half-assing his workouts. And what’s up with him only putting up 225 19 times? Not good for a left tackle. I still think he’s a top-10 talent, but I think he’d be a lot better on an organization with strong leadership.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
mrejr -
Seemed a bit slow. Definately came together at the end. And, yes, I’m a huge Jonas Bros. fan. They make my tummy tickle.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
Statistically speaking, it’s the worst place to put your penis
March 11th, 2009 at 10:32 pm
barnburner in the NEC … tied at 46, robert morris ball, 24 seconds left
March 11th, 2009 at 10:33 pm
who do you work for? dreamworks?
March 11th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
cp3 lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals tonight. Got his sixth triple-double of the year(leads the NBA). Too bad he’s not a top five MVP candidate…
March 11th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
and he hits it! 2.5 seconds left, kid gets lucky as hell as the bouncing ball falls into his lap and he hits a tough shot
March 11th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
I’m not in favor of calling TOs in these circumstances. It gives the defense a chance to set up.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Statistically speaking, it’s the worst place to put your penis Tristan
Goodness. I love me some comedy. That was funny.
Mrejr - I’ll probably appreciate this episode more on a rerun this upcoming week. Doing work stuff at the computer while watching. My gold standard is the Isaac Hayes season premier a couple years ago. That was the epitome of comedy.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
best episode is the Lord of the Flies one a while back. Where they worship the Elway statue as The Provider
March 11th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
yay demetri martins show is on…i bet $100 that it is gonna be just like the first one….its already lame.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
They’re good. I’m obviously a bit biased, but State is one of the deeper teams in the nation. They rebound hard and are well coached. Talent-wise, this is one of the best teams we’ve had in years. I would suggest that State’s tournament track record speaks for itself. Say what you will about the Big 10, but at least 6 teams will make the tourney.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
Speaking of being the tallest midget in the 3rd grade…
March 11th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
Too bad Curry is already a better NBA point guard than that nobody playing for New Orleans.
One of the better endings to a South Park episode. Children are unfathomably stupid.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Megan Fox is a classic tatted-up butterface. She couldn’t carry Shannon Tweed’s bra in the looks department … and Tweed was a better actress.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Is that Nietzel guy still playing for MSU? Seems he was there for seven years already, what’s an eighth?
March 11th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
love raft and bilas going at it
great stuff
March 11th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
we’ve got a near mele in the garden!
fun times!!
March 11th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
cheap shot intentional foul by seton hall and then the teams converged and some guy took devendorf by the throat and he flipped out
March 11th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
She couldn’t carry Shannon Tweed’s bra in the looks department … and Tweed was a better actress.
Skinemax! And those movies were so much better than anything Fox has been in. Although, the Fox gal is cute. I just think her shelf life is expiring. If she is faking break ups with the 90210 guy just for publicity, well, the end is near. She’ll get a big push for Transformers II, all the nerds will hate the movie and she’ll soon fade into a Playboy spread, constant Superficial and WWTDD posts, and then Bolivian.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
I think she’s hideous, but maybe it’s because all I’ve seen her in was Transformers and she was orange and covered in sweat, she looked like she smelled like an old salmon fillet from the Gordons Fishermen. I think my rage at how bad that movie was may impact it too.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
I’m convinced that Byron Eaton for OkSU was in the same recruiting class as Big Country
March 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
bilas has been wrong on BOTH of these incidents. shulman (?) and raft are right
i hope the cuse run these fucking thug nothings out of the building
March 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Tweed also actually fucked a dude during one of those Night Eyes or whatever movies. Good stuff.
If by nerds you mean everyone, then yes.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
i liked transformers but it wasnt because she was the one they picked the girl who’s dad taught her how to hot wire vehicles. i just remember the cartoon and it took me back…i had a few transformer action figures.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Tony Delk is entering his senior year at Kentucky I think, he’s finally gonna step into a leadership role for that squad.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
tournament time’s the best jerry, the best
March 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
/hyena’d
March 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
Did you expect anything less from the girl who has lived with Gene Simmons and even mothered his two children?
Loved old Skinemax…
March 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but does that mean you also like the Dolph Lundgren Masters of the Universe movie? I’ll grant you that Frank Langella was fantastic, and Courtney Cox was in full-on Dancing in the Dark mode.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
devendorf’s such a wanna-be tough guy. i can understand getting pissed about the choke/push, but after he hit that 3 he tried to act all gangsta and that’s just week
March 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
When I saw Transformers in theatres I was enthralled, solely because of the nostalgia. I thought it was tremendous. But when I saw it on TV a few times I slowly realized it was borderline unwatchable. The robot fight scenes were ridiculous, you couldn’t tell which was which, the acting was bad, and who the fuck puts Jon Voight in a physical role?
March 11th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
I know this is a joke, but it still makes me angry…
March 11th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
Being gangsta (shooting whitey, selling crack) > acting gangsta
March 11th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
TBL said that Curry would be a top five NBA point guard
March 11th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
i never saw the master’s of the universe. but they are coming out with a live action g.i. joe movie that iam fucking psyched to see.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
rautins baby, cash money
cuse up 12
it was tied like 4 mins ago
March 11th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Artest with 6 steals I need that.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Cuse shoulda been up this big all game. Thank god Seton Hall woke them up. Just slipping by them would not have been a good start to the tourney for the Orange.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
and yes that is marlon wayans you see as ripcord….
March 11th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
28-11 run since the technical foul. Impressive run by Cuse.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Oh man, Gervais asking Elmo if he knows what necrophylia is. Fucking lost it.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
i cant believe dwayne “i’m not the rock anymore” johnson doesnt have a comic/cartoon/superhero role yet….the scorpion king doesnt count.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
A league getting 7/16 teams in the tourney is not better than a league getting in 8/11.
Big East #4 RPI conference, that’s pretty strong. The Pac 10 thinks the Big East is mediocre.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
I did see it, and by the fact that you lumped those two together, boy oh boy is that movie going to be awful.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
i was just staying on the topic of cartoons turned into live action films…
March 11th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
At least they have some interesting casting with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander. But yeah, G.I. Joe looks terrible. How many cartoons/TV shows have actually been made into a good movie? Thinking…thinking…
March 11th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas ruled!!!!!
/kinda looking forward to the G.I. Joe movie
March 11th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
4 of the top 12 teams in the country. Three of the top 4.
The B10 has, um, Michigan State?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
FSN is doing a nice profile on how Derek Glasser has made a nice career of riding James Harden’s coattails. There are two highlights on that film: 1.Glasser passes to Harden, who makes a play and scores
2.Harden draws the entire defense, kicks it out to Glasser for an open 3.
Can we quit the “Glasser is a quality player” charade?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Best movie of the spring: Adventureland. Awesome.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
underdog?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
How can Michigan St. be the “luckiest” team in the nation if they’re ranked 7th, when they’re really *only* the 11th best team?
That makes no sense.
Seems to me the luckiest team would be the one with the biggest disparity b/w actual and expected ranking.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Yeah Louisville is very scary. Just ask Minnesota.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
dudley do-right?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
A Washington fan making fun of Big Ten basketball is the equivalent of a Duke fan making fun of Big Ten football.
When was the last time Washington made the Elite 8?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
Nobody said they’re the luckiest team in the nation. They may be the luckiest team headed to the tournament based on statistics. Disparity between actual and expected ranking don’t factor in because rankings are meaningless.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
The hell? When did I make fun of Big Ten basketball?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
fwiw, Michigan State is 14th in Ken Pom’s luck rankings.
And I don’t think citing a Minnesota win over Louisville in December is too fair.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Washington is actually a pretty decent team. Haven’t seen much of them, 4 or 5 games, and the only game I really watched intently was vs KU. But I think Romar is a good coach
March 11th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
Dont feel like scrolling up but pretty sure you posted the Michigan St link.
The Lookout is a very good Gordon-Levitt movie.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
Texas Tech came back from down 48-29 at half and is leading aTm 83-81 win 10 seconds left. When it was roughly 77-77, the announcers said Tech player Mike Singletary had outscored the entire aTm team 31-29. Don’t know if that’s still true.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
Scott Frank also wrote Minority Report and Out of Sight. He’s the shit. Check out Gordon-Levitt in 500 Days of Summer when it comes out. The script’s hilarious.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
@ gfunk, WOW! I gave up on that game. Assuming you live in Big 12 country? Thanks for that update.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:48 pm
I’m seeing 11th fetch?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:48 pm
So posting a link about how Michigan State is a statistically lucky team is “making fun of the Big-10″ how? It isn’t. It’s a fact. Not only that, I didn’t say a word on the topic other than posting the link and what amounted to the title of the article.

Oh, nm, you said luck rankings. thought you meant overall.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Are the overall rankings built assuming neutral luck? I’m assuming they have to be.

Yeah, from OK, home for spring break (not recommended as a spring break destination). Tech just held on to win; aTm was down three with a few seconds left and the idiot threw the in bounds pass way over everyone’s head out of bounds. Great game though. Well, great second half.

March 11th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
Thanks, fetch.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
@Triston: Actually I did go to OU, sorry. I’m in law school now. In my defense, I only went to OU because of in state tuition/scholarships, and it’s better than OSU.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
That describes my college situation exactly. Is OU’s law school pretty good?
March 11th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
Yes.

March 12th, 2009 at 12:01 am

March 12th, 2009 at 12:02 am
Yeah Triston I’m getting the fuck out of here. It was like 3 degrees today, in March, and it didnt strike me as cold at all.
March 12th, 2009 at 12:02 am
I would say right now Texas A&M is in and K-State is out, but if K-State beats Texas tomorrow I think those two might switch.
March 12th, 2009 at 12:04 am
