Preposterous. Absurd.

Why are people trying a Duke superstar who just happens to be the 2nd greatest scorer in ACC history - in Durham, he was surrounded by, according to our count, six McDonald’s All-Americans - to a lithe, under-recruited scoring machine who looks like he’s maybe 15?

Though we didn’t poll any GMs about this, or even any NBA coaches - we’ll leave that to the mainstream media - we’re certain (positive!) that Curry’s NBA career will dwarf whatever Redick’s able to do with his next team. The reasons are two-fold:

1) Redick got the bulk of his points curling off multiple screens or on the fastbreak in transition. Curry creates most of his own shots off the dribble, and has a rapid release that makes him difficult to defend. Overplay him and he’ll blow by you; give him too much room and he’ll light it up. For evidence, ask Oklahoma, West Virginia, Gonzaga, Georgetown or Wisconsin.

2) Redick’s a shooting guard; Curry proved this season he’s able to handle point guard duties. Sure, his turnovers went up, consider who he was working with. Curry also just turned 21. He could easily grow another inch or two, and certainly will add some muscle to his wiry frame. In a couple years, he could be a 6-foot-4, 195-pound point or shooting guard, probably with the same quicks he has now.

We’ll hang up now.

And please spare us the “Duke hating” garbage. Even though people loved to hate Redick at Duke, it was hella fun watching the guy fill it up.
