Shawne Merriman’s Return is Why We Like the Chargers to Win the AFC
1-liner, NFL March 31st. 2009, 1:10pmSan Diego Chargers: “After a season off following major knee surgery, Merriman is by many accounts back to full strength already. ‘I feel great, and I look amazing,’ Merriman said last week.” Everyone’s going to pick the Patriots or maybe the Steelers to get to the Super Bowl. But, if you can’t take either of those two, who you got? We’ll take the Chargers. Decent futures odds if you act now! We just did. (Union Tribune)

Ha, since when is an 8-8 team the third-best team in the AFC? I’ll take the team who has won 12 games six straight seasons, especially now that they’ve changed the rules so they won’t have to beat a team with a worse record on their home field twice in the same year.
