Jose Canseco: 90% Chance Manny Ramirez is on “The List”
1-liner, Baseball, Steroids April 6th. 2009, 9:30amJose Canseco: The disgraced yet prescient slugger spoke to USC students this weekend and told them that he thinks there’s a 90 percent chance that Manny Ramirez is on the list of 104 players who tested positive for steroids in 2003. The LA Times tracked down Ramirez, who said, “I got no comment, nothing to say about that. What can I say? I don’t even know the guy.” Huh? (Times via Steroid Nation)

I know it’s cliche, but, if you’ve ever rooted for Manny Ramirez regularly, you know that quote is just Manny being Manny. I view everything he says through the lens of him once cutting across the diamond to get back to first after he rounded second and the fly ball was caught. The man’s dumb as a rock but can hit like no one’s business

Canseco later stated “this is true according to a new survey that I just made up.”

If someone killed Canseco. I wouldn’t have a problem with that.

TBL, I think you need to start a list. I know you hate lists, but seriously. I’m thinking, Top 10 provokers. Has their ever been anybody that stirred the pot as much as this guy??? F I hate Canseco.

And for the record, who here thinks Manny is smart enough, or secretive enough to get injected, or have PED’s administered and not have everybody already know about it?

Is there a possibility that he was on steroids but without he himself knowing about it?

Canseco has been more right than wrong.

Now this I could believe

Pretty much everything Canseco has claimed has been true.

Like that episode of ‘Family Guy’ when peter put roids in Joe’s Water bottle and he won the Special Olympic decathlon?

I wouldn’t be shocked, but I don’t think there is a case for it without hard evidence.
He was a monster in high school, a monster in the minors and a monster from the moment he got into the league. There’s no leap in his numbers. He hit his prime in his late 20s and early 30s like you would expect him to. Despite that magical run in the NL at the end of last season, he has started to fade a bit, like you would expect him to.

Exactly what I was going to type Ty.

Also, you have to note when Canseco has been right. The players he has outed correctly are guys he played with and guys or guys he had personal knowledge of using. If he’s not 100 percent sure Manny used roids and doesn’t know him, he’s guessing. I don’t think there’s reason to use his guess more than anyone elses.
