While it isn’t quite Chris Snyder of Arizona fracturing his testicle, Brandon Inge making a trip to the DL after straining an oblique while moving a pillow, Detroit reliever Joel Zumaya suffering an injury while playing Guitar Hero or Clint Barmes shattering his collarbone while carrying deer meat … Cincinnati’s Chris Dickerson busted up his head recently while struggling with a revolving door.

“My ‘real’ story is I hit my head on the rim during a celebrity slam dunk contest,” Dickerson joked. “They do need to do something about that door. It’s a deathtrap waiting to happen. I can only imagine what happens with people less coordinated than me. I’m a little clumsy, but a pretty coordinated guy. I should be able to fly through that thing easy. I struggle with it every day.”

The good news is, the revolving door will prove to be a much more difficult adversary than Jerry Hairston in Dickerson’s quest for PT in left field this season.
