Do idiots pull wool like this? Keyshawn Johnson has given everyone a multitude of reasons to hate him – braggadocio, picking on Wayne Chrebet, pouting until Tampa Bay deactivated his cocky ass – but what he said yesterday about Monday Night Football nightmare Joe Theismann has incited a Keyshawn lovefest, the likes of which we haven’t seen since he dominated Northwestern in the Rose Bowl in 96:

“The guy called me an idiot a couple of years ago when I was de-activated in Tampa,” Johnson said. “I just told him that’s not acceptable. I’m a guy with a degree from the University of Southern California. Idiots don’t get degrees. Especially when you don’t know what transpired within the organization, I’d just assume you would keep your mouth shut, because the next time that I’m an idiot on national television, I’m not going to be so nice. That was pretty much the conversation.”

Thinly-veiled threats directed at the most unbearable announcer in all of sports. Kornheiser, if you ever needed ammunition against Theismann, you’ve got it.
