Can Anybody Stop Trip-Doub Machine Rajon Rondo?
NBA April 26th. 2009, 3:27pm
The third-year point guard for the Celtics is on the verge of another triple-double in game four against the Bulls. All the hype was heaped upon Chicago’s Derrick Rose after game one, but Rondo’s been more amazing, though less heralded. The Bulls have kept it close thanks to 27 points from Hinrich and Miller off the bench. Boston by three, under three minutes left.

Rondo looks like a female alien.
Yeah, I said it again.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Female alien two assists from triple double
Ray Allen missed a FT, amazing. But of course the Celtics get the ball back.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
john salmons with a lazy box out … but perkins sets a dumb screen, fouls out
April 26th, 2009 at 3:31 pm
With all the players on these teams, who would have thought that Rondo would have been clearly the best player in this series? Wow.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Why does Perkins always scowl? I know he’s perturbed right now, but the Celtics could be up by 25 and he’d find a reason to mean mug.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Let me preface this by saying Fuck Boston, but the refs are really killing the Celtics. Three very very sketchy offensive fouls on Perkins in like 3 minutes to foul him out.
Weak.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Scalabrine looks like a clown with that giant headband wrapped around his ginger hair.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
What happened to Pierce? He’s been stopped/slowed by Kirk Hinrich most of this series
April 26th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Sort of surprised to see after his MVP play last season.
Think he jinxed himself by calling himself the best player on the planet? Or was that comment blown out of proportion?
April 26th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
what a shot by gordon! was about to say it was a bad shot
April 26th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
It was a bad shot.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:40 pm
Wow. How did that lay-up not fall?
April 26th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
Stuckey’s feeling it early.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
COLD BLOODED!
April 26th, 2009 at 3:43 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 3:44 pm

ovetime
April 26th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
I’m still in a daze that the Saints traded up to take a punter.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Love the Davis pick by the Niners.
Also, another stellar performance by King Henrik. Thanks for choking on a dick and forcing us to endure that preening douchebag Ovechkin for at least one more game, you worthless Swedish fuck. GO BACK TO SWEDENLAND!
April 26th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Funny how ABC didn’t show Garnett after Allen’s three like TNT did… over and over. Viewers would’ve been treated to “mother fucker” this and that from the dirtiest mouth in the NBA.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
not even contested? WTF???
That was a really well-run play, I think it’s more a credit to the C’s than a knock on the Bulls’ D on that one.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Can anyone find the fucking Cavs? Is it on a different station until this fagshit Celtics game is over?
April 26th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Not to completely defend the move, but how was your previous punter? The Steelers drafted Sepulveda in the fourth round, and if he hadn’t blown his knee out they would have won at least two more games last year. Mitch Berger was probably the worst player to ever play in the NFL. I think people underestimate the value of a good punter.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
ET’s girlfriend gets his triple double.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
Can anyone find the fucking Cavs? Is it on a different station until this fagshit Celtics game is over?
Sorry you have to watch the end of a great game over a dead-in-the-water team getting worked by LeBron. And who uses the word “fagshit”? Are you 12?
April 26th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Well the Titans have their running back now. Wait.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
john salmons is fucking ga-bidge
April 26th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Hope you’re right, Mole. Bengals had one of the worst collective punting efforts in the league last year and took the best one in the 5th today. We’ll see how much it helps.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
moleman,
The Saints picked Glenn Pakulak the second half of the season, and he averaged 47.7 in 8 games.
The guy they picked up can also double as a kicker. But Garrett Hartley was perfect after they picked him up too.
This pick is absolutely perplexing. Especially when they don’t have a 20-carry every-down back or any depth at outside linebacker, and they’re now done for the day.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
He hasn’t shown anything this series. Not impressed.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
why didnt gordon call timeout there????? fuck
April 26th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Yeah it that case it makes no sense, my condolences.
April 26th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
why didnt gordon call timeout there????? fuck
You got money on this one TBL?
April 26th, 2009 at 3:57 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 3:59 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 3:59 pm

My daughter!
Wow, what a gambler!
Alternatively
Gambling is the finest thing a man can do, if he’s good at it.
And so forth.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
helluva game. come on pierce, choke
April 26th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Let’s see if Pierce can finish them at the line this time, no need for a repeat of Game 1.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Payton said to the New Orleans media yesterday and to ESPN today that he tried to trade back in to the first round to get Beanie Wells. So now, instead, with no running back taken, he just says “Screw it. Let’s trade up and get a punter and go home.”
I hope he’s planning to bring in 2 or 3 guys as undrafted free agents. He struck semi-gold with Pierre Thomas a couple of years ago. Maybe he can go out and find him a complement now.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
yes pierce choked again
April 26th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Man, I think I jinxed him, jesus…
April 26th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
why’d they go so early? even if he makes these, Boston has tons of time too win
April 26th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
why’d they go so early? even if he makes these, Boston has tons of time too win
I agree. Then again, Vinny used his TOs early twice this series, so he’s not the best at strategy
April 26th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Ouch. Why isn’t Ty Thomas in to rebound?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
STOP THE WORLD! MARK SANCHEZ IS IN RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 26th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
The draft needs janitors too you know.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
had to go get something to eat…but vinny del negro is the reason why the bulls are gonna lose this series. he has run out of timeouts i think every game in this series. seriously that is fucking horrible.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Missed the whole first quarter of Pistons-Cavs already. 27-26 Pistons. Dice with 10. LeBron with 10.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
allen dont miss
gordon needs a miracle
April 26th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
mrejer: Freeman is a steal in the 5th round.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
That’s racist.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
GORDON!!!!!!
April 26th, 2009 at 4:08 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
Holy Shit! He was fading away on that too.
This game is incredible.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
JORDON!!!!!!
April 26th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
what a tough shot that was – falling to his right with Pierce coming at him
damn that kid can shoot
how anyone could say they dont need gordon back … what a laugh. yeah, john salmons is your future SG. lol
lotta time left, though
April 26th, 2009 at 4:10 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
whew

April 26th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
NickP:i was gonna ask you about him so he is good huh?
ben gordon again is earning his contract for next year in this series
April 26th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Cavs are on ESPN2, btw.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
Female Alien refuses to go to the cup for the game-winner and instead settles for the weakest part of his game.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
The draft needs janitors too you know.
Yeah, but he should really be able to handle the pressures of having to be the janitor in such an important building.
/”National” media’d
April 26th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
That’s an outrage! I turned it there for WSOP.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Scenester janitor extraordinaire?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
gordon, such a $ shot
bulls lead!
April 26th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Gordon is so terrible on defense they had to take him out for the last defensive possession of regulation (the Allen 3). It’s not that they don’t need Gordon…they don’t need him at the money Gordon will likely get.
He’s all-shooting. He can’t pass for shit, defend at all, or rebound. He is a luxury, not a necessity.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
rose just bitchslapped female alien
April 26th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
can’t believe how much pierce has fallen off from the awesome finals he had last year
oh, that gordon step-back 3 would have been sick
didnt know he had that kind of handle
April 26th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Uglier human being: Joakim Noah or Delonte West? No Sam Cassell comments please. Just these two.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:17 pm
so you do offense-defense switches at the end. what’s so difficult about that? you can’t rely on your PG to run the team AND score a ton of points. where do the points come from without gordon?
you take salmons on your team. i’ll take gordon.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:17 pm
easier question: what is the last number of pi?
i bet mj would know.
/super andy’d
April 26th, 2009 at 4:19 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 4:21 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 4:21 pm

April 26th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
He looks pooped out.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
NOAH ON A BITCH!!!!!
/i wonder if his dad played a sport pretty well?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
That’s not the question, though.
Do you want Salmons for ~$5 million or Gordon for ~$10 million?
The answer is obvious.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Is that Jada Pinkett in the new Star Wars movie?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
the boston cockroaches cannot be killed
April 26th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
it doesnt matter who you have on your team if you have vinny del negro as your coach.
/game.set.match
April 26th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
i’d need to see the rest of the roster and the salaries before making a decision. but i like gordon about 8x better than salmons. and i’d get a defensive stopper on the cheap who can come in for those late-game situations.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
oh, and i dont totally blame gordon for asking for the world; they gave kirk hinrich big money and gordon is a better player than hinrich.
chicago’s going to lose him – can’t pay all those players
wow, what a dangerous inbounds pass. what the hell are they thinking
April 26th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
i believe the song that was playing during the ben gordon graphic was
“with all the bitches and all these hoes somebody here wants to fuck.”
April 26th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Matthew McConaghy is terrible.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
fuckin taco
pierce hits a 3, one-point game!
April 26th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
fixed.
didnt you say that hinrich has slowed down pierce this series? if you put gordon on pierce he will go for 40 a night. and hinrich is a better passer
April 26th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
Pierce is more clutch than Kobe over the last two years.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Yeah, Hinrich’s better than Gordon.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
none of them are more clutch than mj.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
if ray allen gets open here …
April 26th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
yes!
ballgame!
bulls survive
April 26th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
haha, i stand by my statement. But week offense their by the Celts..
April 26th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
oh, and Nick, you’ll notice who did a great DEFENSIVE job on that last play, switching onto Ray Allen so he couldn’t get a touch
gordon.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Great defense to deny Allen. Took two times to figure it out, but the Bulls got it when it counted today.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Tiger is more clutch than MJ.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
No smiley faces allowed, Paolos.

April 26th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Alright, TBL, do we get a Cavs-Pistons post or do we keep it going here?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
pierce was horrible in that game..may have had the most points for the celtics but he made alot of mistakes…hes the reason the celtics didn’t sweep the bulls.
gritty performance by the celts in overtime though when their two big men are glen davis and freaking brian scalabrine
rondo > rose
April 26th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
fail. rose is just 2 yrs out of high school wait until he matures.
and i guess you forget the bulls big men arent exactly the cream of the crop
April 26th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
if it’s close in the 4th there will be a post
i got reading to do
April 26th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
they sure as hell are better than scalabrine and 6′10 davis
no way rose is better than rondo..period
April 26th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
how good would he be on the bulls? he has had the luxury of playing with 3 HOF’ers. if rose played for the celts they would have swept a rondo led bulls
April 26th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Davis is not 6-10.
April 26th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
maybe…but it seems to me rondo has been easily the best player on the court in this series..which has been awesome…including 2 hall of famers
April 26th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
your right ndub…hes 6′9
April 26th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
That’s generous, too.
April 26th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
I have come to the conclusion that I don’t even need to be here, mrejr knows whats up. My number 1 fan!
April 26th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Late to the party here, but I would like to thank the NHL for becoming the WWE. Brashear knocks out Betts with a late gutless hit at center ice and gets no penalty. Should have been a 5 minute major which would have totally changed that game early. What joke. Yet squirting water on someone gets you a game suspension.
Another reason the NHL will never become relevant again until Bettman quits or gets fired.
April 26th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
What’s the NHL?
April 26th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
the MLS’ main rival
