Obviously, the Specter switch is big news here in PA. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the papers this morning:
I’ve always voted for Specter, because I always got he impression he was doing what he felt was best for PA and wouldn’t be tied to party lines (as evidenced by the stimulus vote). Democrats will soon find out as well, as Specter will definitively vote against any union-friendly bills as well.

Same here, Roeth…he’s the only Republican I’ve cast my vote for in my 10 years of PA residency.
As for D-Howard getting suspended…so what. The 76ers are done, I think they get blown out in Game 6, with or without Howard. They had their chance in Game 4, and didn’t get it done.
Not sure if there are gonna be any takers, but there was a lot of talk on Philly radio yesterday that they are going to make a serious effort to trade Elton Brand…which I find incredibly stupid. I hated the Brand signing, but dumping him now, at his lowest value would be even stupider.

I haven’t owned a video game system since my original xbox was stolen in college. Every time I play Madden at a friends I get the urge to buy a system and jump back on the video game scene - just not sure I have the time anymore.

I gave up video game systems when I moved in with my girlfriend, who is now my wife.
What it actually turns out, is I gave up video game systems. I still sneak flash games in quite a bit, and I had a serious addiction to online scrabble/lexulous that the new baby cured me of, and fast. It’s a sad part of growing up. No ciggies, no weed, no video games, much less sports, no strange, etc.

I told a sympathetic PA friend weeks ago that Specte could not be trusted and was right. He pulled a Lieberman, or a power-grab, of sorts, but at least Lieberman ran for office and still won. They both vote about the same by the way — pro-Middle East War stuff and pro-social spending.
