Celebrity First Pitches: Mario Lopez, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Hanks
Baseball May 21st. 2009, 3:45pm
Throwing a baseball sixty feet with reasonable accuracy appears simple, but for the male celebrity it can be fraught with peril. Here is Mario Lopez.

If you are male, of firm constitution and under the age of 60 you cannot scooch in to the infield. I don’t care if it will get your sneakers dirty. You should have considered that before you got to the ballpark. Tucked in jersey. Fabulous form, but not in a good way. You once played an athlete on TV. At least pretend.

McConaughey is much better. Focused. Solid Form. On the mound. Has a glove. Appropriate sneaker choice.

Tom Hanks is getting it done. He looks like someone his age attending a baseball game. He roots for the Indians. He has an excellent follow through. He does not need to be buttressed by faux athletic wear. No matter the situation, Tom Hanks is bringing the heat.

i’ll take blame for that one. my e-mouth is quite toxic.
May 21st, 2009 at 4:18 pm
So Lopez is like the kid in Sandlot who inexplicably has no clue how to throw a baseball. McConaughy has a shot at making the high school team with that form, and you know what he says about those high school girls. Hanks is better at ping pong.
