Tyler Hansborough Will Hurt You (in Ping-Pong)
Uncategorized December 8th. 2006, 2:34pmNot only is North Carolina’s Tyler Hansborough a National Player of the Year candidate in college basketball, but he’s a damn fine ping-pong player. Or so this video would like you to believe.
As a ping-pong aficionado (no joke: In 1998, we were ranked in the Top 50 on the East Coast), we can tell you this – Hansborough has no backhand. That’s why he runs around them all. And if he needed to hit one, the placement of his index finger (back on the racquet) would ruin the shot. And we saw no spin whatsoever.
In all honesty, we could hold him to single digits.
(Nice touch with the ‘Texas-style’ junk at the end. Never seen it. Cool.)

Maybe he has no backhand because his arms are five feet long, thus his forehand provides him with full table coverage.

He is good at B’Ball but only slightly above average with Table Tennis. Anyone with a decent amount of coordination could play regularly for a few weeks and get that good. No wonder Henderson gave him that elbow! He probably watched this before the game and wanted his 4:21 back too. Go Duke!
