The Knicks Get Their PG?
1-liner, NBA Draft June 9th. 2009, 4:00pmNBA Draft: The Knicks may have a deal in place (via here) – that will be complete on draft day – for Portland backup PG Sergio Rodriguez. Nobody’s sure what the Knicks would give back in return, but obviously not this year’s No. 8. Rodriguez is a Euro, and D’Antoni covets those, so it makes sense. Wither Stephen Curry? Perhaps NY doesn’t think he’ll be around at 8 (see here), which would then have them leaning toward … what position, exactly? The Knicks have two significant decisions to make (Lee, Robinson), and if they have LeBron arriving in 2010, that would mean they’ll go SG in the draft. Too bad there isn’t a 3-point gunner worth the value here.

We are all going to be coveting euros once the dollar goes in the tank.

Spanish Chocolate for maybe David Lee in a sign & trade…?

Wait a second, that’s not him. Faggedaboutit.
/What Winston Wolf said.

I wish people would just stop with the Lebron-to-NYC trash. If Lebron wants to win, Cleveland is in a much better position to do so. Something tells me he’s gonna be all-time motivated next year to win, and I bet they get to the finals.

June 9th, 2009 at 4:17 pm

June 9th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
The Lakers?
June 9th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Want a SG? Trade down and draft Ellington. He’d be perfect in a D’Antoni offense.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
And a coach who doesn’t coach it. Knicks are not winning with D’Antoni at the helm. And D-Lee has become vastly overrated. His stats are far inflated b/c of that system. He’s the Barbosa of the Knicks.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Oh, that’s the difference…
June 9th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
Someone should tell D’Antoni it’s spelled Fernandez. He might be getting the players mixed up.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Any guy who is Steve Blake’s backup sounds like a franchise changer to me.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
not a bad idea. ellington grew on me in his final season. i think he’s probably a top 20 guy now. hell, he might be the best shooter in the draft. all those frosh up top can’t shoot
June 9th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I think he’s more like the marion of the knicks. Just look how good he did soon as he left phoenix.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
You’re thinking of Rudy. Different guy.
/that’s racist
June 9th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
d’antoni will last maybe….3 yrs when the fans realize that winning 50-55 games every year is fun but that he isnt bringing a ring to your franchise anytime soon. and lebron isnt going to the knicks he is going to the nets so he can play in brooklyn and play with his boy jay-z
June 9th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
What about, that guy from Davidson? You know, Steph Curry? Weren’t you going to marry the guy earlier this year?
June 9th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
jason kapano dealt to philly
toronto picks up reggie evans. a PF. hmmmm.
first move in an effort to trade bosh?
what if cleveland got bosh AND shaq. that’s be awesome.
/will stop rooting for cleveland once lebron leaves
June 9th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
yeah i can see how you connected the dots there…because reggie is just as good as bosh
June 9th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
I would love a couple 50-55 win seasons Have you seen the Knicks lately.… I’m sorry TBL but this too good of an opportunity to pass up
June 9th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
They can lose the same amount of games with Evans as they did with Bosh this year…
June 9th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
Yea, I bet Shaq would jump at the chance to take a pay cut AND live in Cleveland for a year…
June 9th, 2009 at 4:48 pm
Can Chris Bosh do this? Didnt think so.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Great deal for the 76ers. I like Evans, but he was not going to play with Brand and Smith back this season. Kapono is exactly what the 76ers’ offense needs. It’s been a while since a Sixers acquisition excited me (hate the Brand), but I like this. Now, if they had just hired a different coach.
I have zero idea what this would have to do with Bosh.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
CP3 can, Duder.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
HAHAHHAHAHAHA
June 9th, 2009 at 4:54 pm
Yeah that was lame Mak. Julius Hodge I believe. Very good college player.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
They got Kyle Korver back
June 9th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
That was what I was inferring as the only Spanish guy on the Blazers worth trading for is Rudy.
/Spanish isn’t a race is it?
June 9th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Bosh is going to the Heat if he goes anywhere at all
June 9th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
Thought Boozer was going to the Heat.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Why the hell did Miami pick up Jermaine O’Neil again? That was a stupid trade. Instead of Marion’s $17 mil coming off the books, they now have to pay $23 mil for O’Neil for another year
June 9th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
just got here, but I have my dictionary open.
I’ll take whither over wither, please.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
Bosh is going to the Heat if he goes anywhere at all
down here all they say is Beasley for Bosh and the assorted tomato cans on each side for money
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basketball/heat/sfl-hyde-heat-s050709sbmay07,0,7386222.column
they also said O’Neal then goes to the Cavs for Wallace, but if he retires, that doesn’t work
June 9th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Best move by the Raptors in a long time. Kapono mailed it in for two years. I hope 76er fans enjoy the driving, off balance runners he takes everytime a defender closes out on him. He is also the worst defensive player in the league.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
I know Bosh isn’t in the same universe as LeBron but I’m beginning to relate to Cavs fans with all these “Bosh is going to…” rumours.
Every article I see makes it sound like there is no chance he is coming back and that the Raps are going to move him for ten cents on the dollar. They may move him, but it won’t be at a discount and it won’t be for someone with question marks that Beasley has. Beyond that, I’d put the chances of him staying in Toronto at 50/50 based on his comments to date.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
What can Toronto do to put talent around Bosh?
June 9th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
trade him before he walks away next summer for nothing.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
I’m not saying they won’t/shouldn’t trade him. Actually, I think it might be the right move. My problem is every article I read makes it sound like he’s going to go for a discount. The Raptors absolutely will not do that.
The best one I heard was a Dallas Maverick beat reporter on Toronto sports radio show saying the Mavs could bring him home to Dallas for Jason Terry.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
I’m not sure if there are any examples where a semi-franchise player leaves a downtrodden team for 100 cents on the dollar. The guy is leaving at a discount, it’s just a matter of how much he gets marked down.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
Beasley or Terry would be one crazy discount. Maybe I’m in denial but I would think that they could do better than that.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
I don’t think it’d be straight up. They’re probably mentioning those names as the principals of whatever package the other team would put together to get Bosh.

Please, no posts on rumors posted on “Real GM”. That place has a 15% success rate.
And I’m an avid reader of the damn site.
