Final Day to Pull Out of the NBA Draft
1-liner, NBA Draft June 15th. 2009, 9:30amNBA Draft: Today’s the final day for college kids who haven’t signed with an agent to pull out of the NBA draft. A couple guys did so over the weekend: Georgia Tech’s Gani Lawal, who we thought would go in the first round; South Carolina PG Devan Downey (the 2nd nice piece of news for ‘Cocks fans this week); and overrated but athletic-as-heck Texas F Damion James. It seems as if the thin and soft Austin Daye will stay in the draft; nobody’s sure what Notre Dame’s Luke Harangody’s going to do. This also makes tomorrow a splendid day for an official college hoops summer Top 20. We got that idea in chatting with Storming the Floor this weekend.

If J’Covan Brown gets cleared by the NCAA Texas is going to be ridiculously deep. They’ll be a top 5 team for sure if Bradley and Hamilton are as good as advertised. It’ll be interesting to see if Rick Barnes can screw this up.

Duke is #1. They have (x) McDonalds All Americans coming in, as well as (x) kids of former professional athletes. And they’re the most “fundamentally sound” (aka whitest) team in the country.

When’s the last time that’s happened? The current MSM view is “Duke needs more black people, Coach K hates one and dones, omg, Duke hasn’t been to a final four since 2004″…seriously, I know you’re a duke hater, but the MSM hasn’t been on Duke’s jockstrap since JJ left.
