Well, that was anti-climactic. The Lakers seized control with a 16-0 run in the second quarter and the Magic never got within single digits. Lamar Odom had 16-10 off the bench, and will get paid handsomely this offseason; so too will Trevor Ariza, who had a 2nd straight game with 15 points. Both are free agents, and it seems unlikely that they will be retained by the Lakers. That’s why Mark Jackson – who struggled in the Finals – has no clue what he’s talking about when he says, “they’re not finished.” Good thing Jeff Van Gundy was there to bail him out.

Kobe (30 points) has his 4th ring, and first since that fateful summer day in Colorado. Phil has his NBA-record 10th ring, snapping his tie with Red Auerbach. The title is the 15th in Lakers history.

We won’t have a Kobe-MJ discussion tomorrow. Not worth it.
