No brainer: Many draft prognosticators have this pick as James Harden from Arizona State. The Wiz need a SG. He’s probably the best shooter in the draft after Steph Curry, and should contribute immediately.
End-of-Career Struggles: In the first round of the NCAA tourney against Temple, Harden shot 1-for-8. In the 2nd round against Syracuse, he was just 2-for-10. Not exactly capping a 2-year college career with a flourish.
Trade?: This pick has been rumored to have been on the trading block since the lottery went down. But in this so-called weak draft, who is worth trading up into the 5th spot? The argument for trading down: Rajon Rondo went 21st in 2006, and Monta Ellis slipped to 40th in 2005.
Dan Fegan: He’s the agent for PG Ricky Rubio and G Jrue Holiday. Neither has worked out for the Wizards, although they have worked out/talked to all the teams around them. Fegan is also the former agent of Gilbert Arenas, and the speculation is that Fegan doesn’t want Rubio or Holiday in the backcourt with Arenas. For more on this, see the No. 4 pick post later today.
The Pick: If the Wiz keep it, Harden makes sense. Another move that makes sense: Arizona’s Jordan Hill. Put him at PF, slide Jamison to SF, and try Butler at SG. That doesn’t necessarily address the team’s awful 3-point shooting (2nd worst in the league).

We’d go with Harden.
