Lakers, Rockets Swap Small Forwards Ariza, Artest
1-liner July 3rd. 2009, 10:54amArtest-Ariza Swap: The Lakers have a new, crazy, SF and his name is Ron Artest. The Rockets countered by signing Trevor Ariza. We’d offer links and salaries numbers but we’re in the car. Briefest of thoughts: How will the Rockets score next season?

Don’t they still have the best player in the game: Shane Battier?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:11 am
no, we still have Luis Scola… who will average 20/10 next year. Of course, we’re going to finish 35-47, but that’s beside the point.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:13 am
How will they score? They just signed the second-coming of James Posey. I think Trevor Ariza’s 6.9 career PPG should take care of the scoring load. He put up 11 points a game during the playoffs.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:20 am
Dont really understand this by the Lakers, as best I can tell they are each getting identical deals. I like Artest, but he’s an aging chucker who will take shots from Gasol/Kobe. Last year Ron averaged 17 points on 15 shots, Ariza 9 points on 7 shots. Will captain crazy be happy with half the shots?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am
Who saw the “We Gutta” hat Artest has on sportscenter. Why am I at work?
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:34 am
Ariza fits better for the Lakers than Artest does at this point. He’s not the scorer than Ron is, but plays better defense and can guard more people because of his height. The Rockets came out ok at this position. The real problem will be replacing Yao. Franchise centers don’t come around very often.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:42 am
I actually like this for both teams. The Lakers are in “Win Now” mode – and Artest can help in that, he takes the opponents’ best scorer and frees Kobe up. His inclusion also makes Odom a 6th man/ off-the-bench scorer.
And the Rockets, given all their issues, were unlikely to repeat this year’s exploits. With no Yao and no T-Mac, who knows how they’ll do. But historically Ron isn’t known to be on his best behavior while his team is doing poorly. Ariza can be a building block along with Scola, Brooks and whoever else they get.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:46 am
Lakers will be heavy favorites next year. Cant see anyone even giving them a series.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:48 am
please
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:53 am
That was Ariza’s job last year. It seemed to work pretty well. Someone else demanding the ball in Kobe’s offense just doesn’t seem like a good idea unless it’s a point guard.
July 3rd, 2009 at 11:53 am
The Lakers know what they’re getting with Artest. I don’t think that’s the case with Ariza. There’s no guarantee he plays the way he did during the playoffs next year. With Artest, they now have a guy who’s window matches Kobe’s
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:04 pm
How much does Ariza hate his agent right now?
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:04 pm
The Rockets are so fucked.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:06 pm
People seem to forget that Ariza was a major question mark for the Lakers heading into the playoffs. I loved the guy and was even bringing up Scottie Pippen’s name after his finals performance, but let’s be honest, after the New Year, his shooting was very inconsistent (30% from 3 the last two months of the year). He turned into a completely new player in the playoffs).
Of course with all that said, I really wanted the Cavaliers to sign him. I’m wishy washy.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Just because they don’t have their top three players next year doesn’t mea… oh… never mind.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Ariza wouldve had the same role with the Cavs as he did with the Lakers, meaning about the 4th offensive option. He wanted to play a bigger role and be the man. He’s 24, cant blame him for wanting to see how good he can be.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:14 pm
Now all I need is for the Mavs to resign Jason Kidd and have Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli catch mono, and the Hornets are a shoe in to win the division!!!
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Weren’t they having problems with signing Odom and Ariza due to money? And now they are getting Odom and Artest? How does that work?
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Too bad we still got Peja.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:24 pm
Really? They know how he’ll react when Kobe gets in his face for taking one of his terrible 3 point attempts? No one ever knows what youre getting with Artest, even when he seemed happy in Hou there was still an occasional blowup. Like Mak said, I just feel like Ariza is a better fit in LA, he doesnt demand the ball as much.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:24 pm
I suppose getting Artest does take away one of the few defenders that could slow down Kobe on the opposition.
So, is the starting five going to be Fisher, KB24, Ron-Ron, Pau and Bynum? Isn’t Ron a little small to play the 3? He’s really a 2.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Personnel wise, yes. But clearly financially, no. He’s getting what, $3 or $4M more in Houston per year? He’s got his ring and wanted to get paid.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:29 pm
Ron’s one of the biggest and strongest 3’s in the league. He’s 6′7 260.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:34 pm
The Rockets you see in November won’t resemble anything they are in July. Brooks, Battier, Landry and most anyone else not named “Scola” are on the trading block.
Ariza’s signing was just the beginning.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Souvenir, I cant be sure, the articles I’m looking at say its all in principal, but it appears both are getting the exact same full mid-level, 5 years 33.5 mil. The Artest one says “will total roughly $18.7 million over three years or $33.5 million over five years, depending on which contract structure Artest ultimately prefers”. So its the same amount per year, but up to Ron if he wants 3 or 5 years.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:36 pm
I heard its the full mid-level for both Ariza and Artest, but Artest has 3 years and Ariza has 5 years. Also, Artest brings in the enforcer Kobe and Pau never had. Ariza was never going to be that guy.
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:38 pm
Just looked it up…didn’t know he was that massive. 260? That’s LeBron’s weight.
And a five year contract would be just idiotic for the Lakers. It almost ensures that Kobe leaves when his contract is up. Believe me, I’d much rather have Ariza than Ron. Less crazy, more potential.
Anyone else see this stuff about Iverson wanting to join the Griz?
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:57 pm
Dont get me wrong, its not “giving up 3 starters from a Finals team for Vince Carter” stupid, Artest brings plenty to the table, just not what I would have done.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:03 pm
I blame Ariza’s agent. He turned the negotiations hostile for no reason. The Lakers don’t need to deal with that.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Artest is a beast. You have a hard time getting a handle on how big he really is, because he isn’t lanky at all, like most ballers. He’s an animal.
Coop – Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, and Tony Battie weren’t actually 3 starters. They were one rookie starter, one emergency starter that they needed off of, and a guy who got 8 minutes a game. The only guy they’ll miss is Lee.
Re: Kobe – he’s about to sign a 3 year extension behind his current 2 more years. He’s getting maxed out for 3 more years. He’s not going anywhere.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Artest >>>>>>> Ariza. Amazing that some many think otherwise.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:27 pm
who says mcgrady is gone? he still has 1 more year on his contract. yes, he fucked the rockets over but you bet your ass he’s going to play his ass off because its a contract year. with the loss of yao, why don’t the rockets just keep him that way we compete AND there’s 23 million off the books in 2010? besides the only teams that are going to trade for mcgrady will want to get bad/long contracts off their books. it wouldnt make sense for the rockets to do that unless its a player that could make us contenders. it wont happen. mcgrady will be a rocket this year.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:32 pm
And as much as I like Lee, they quietly got back a player who had just as good and productive of a rookie season in Ryan Anderson.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I thought it was a foregone conclusion that January would be the earliest he could be back.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:38 pm
who says mcgrady is gone?
Right now McGrady is nothing but a contract. He had microfracture surgery in February. He’s not playing this season at all. So if Houston keeps him, then they are giving up on the whole season.
That doesn’t seem to match the Ariza signing. Or all the different things they’ve been trying so hard to do. He’s valuable only as a thing you can trade.
@ Jay V – I didn’t see many New Jersey games this year (thank god), so I can’t speak re: Anderson. I’ve heard good things from several folks.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:43 pm
i totally forgot about that
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:47 pm
i totally forgot about that
Yeah. He really fucked them. They were trying to move him at the deadline, and he announced he was having surgery so they couldn’t trade him.
He may end up on the court for the last 10 games of the season, and play hard for somebody, just so he can get his next 4 year / 52 million dollar deal.
July 3rd, 2009 at 1:53 pm
here is what i want to know. how come artest isnt getting a ‘uge slap on the back for taking less money when he could have got a huge fucking contract from a team that is destined to suck? if it was any other player his name would sung on talk radio and he would be given a parade. if this doesnt help repair some of artest image then nothing will.

July 3rd, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Was just listening to Van Pelt when I was out doing errands. He gave him the ‘uge slap on the back you’re looking for. Taking that kind of contract does at least make you think he’s going somewhere for the sole purpose of winning.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:02 pm

Absolutely! Geez it was five years ago, and they also ride Kobe along the same lines of course. But if either player had played in New York, I guarantee you they would get a pass for sure by now!

Speaking of Cleveland, perhaps the Red Sox are looking at getting Victor Martinez? Wonder what that would cost…
Wonder if the Indians are even serious about moving him?

Basically, she’s just ashamed also of her piece of crap party altogether of just mostly a bunch of greedy adultering old men at the core. The other big party is the same in the regard by its old men, but they are hidden better by the “diverse” crowd of many whiners and ninnies that surround them in large part. One big reason the country is not moving on, not saying necessarily forward, is that they are too pussy to get rid of that obstructionist wench Pelosi as the Speaker of the House. Why couldn’t she have passed on instead of those celebrities? It is just not fair.
That Fox News demographic that is aging rapidly is the past not the future folks.
(Please ignore this Mike NYC, as you are too full of your own Wall Street bullshit and GOP talking points fresh off the set of perhaps “Hannity” or “Glen Beck” with your politics whenever you come on here)

Music went downhill another leg for the most part when MTV shifted to Eminem and Britney about 1997 when they figured out going after the tweens in Generation Y was more lucrative than abandoning Generation X and trying to steer them to VH1, which of course failed miserably.
Except for a brief period of solid grunge even when it hit mass popularity at the beginning of the decade, unless you are a fan of country or rap, music sucked more in the 1990s than it did for the 1970s, 1980s, and latter part of the 1960s.
The 1990s were an awful music decade, and this decade has not been much better really. I think you can blame mostly MTV’s heavy grip on the industry at the time, which thankfully became highly irrelevant about 10 years ago unless you were under 17.

Romney could win, especially if the economy is still wallowing in shame. And Palin could get 40% of the vote in the GE, of course most candidates could too. Getting the extra 11% is the hardest part.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Paolo, you are so full of shit that it’s seeping out of your pores. Do you actually watch FOX news or just hear the occational excerpt from Hannity? No one except the extreme right likes Hannity. Go listen to Keith Olberman and rant about clouds. Republicans watch FOX news because they get tired of the constant Democratic PR machine that is MSNBC.

Agreed Wilhelm great point. And I have to say after reading that, I think this is her cue to us that she will prep for the Senate. Also telling is that she released this information right before a holiday weekend in order to minimise public attention and media coverage. That’s an old Washington trick when something is in the works.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:29 pm
My God that’s hilarious. Well done sir.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:29 pm
she’s the great white hype, younglefty.
she could be the equivalent of an Obama-type person to the Republican party, however, it seems like the republican’s aren’t studying the Obama playbook from the election. Where Obama lacked in substance he made up for a grassroots movement on a massive scale and a very carefully managed public perception. Palin may have been right stating the McCain campaign botched her roll out, but she came across as being very crass by not even staying on message and going out of her way to take the spotlight from the presidential nominee on her own ticket. goes to show you how fucked up the republican’s line of thinking is when it comes to campaign strategy.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Yea the part I had about Obama shitting the bed included the economy tanking, though.
Sorry to go off on you, Paolo, since we usually agree. I just tired of Republican bashing since there’s about six of us on this site.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:32 pm
I USED to watch Fox News, but unlike you I don’t have to any more other than popping in once in awhile to hear the same rehearsed bullshit as apparently you drink happily if not also slurp and swallow Shatner. Try http://www.newshounds.org …they watch Fox so the rest of us don’t have to either …and did I say I watch MSNBC? I posted about them yesterday. Once Olbermann helped to get his man in after his limelight in righteously putting down solidly perhaps your puppet man Bush in place of the real power of Darth Cheney, his relevance was over unless you still think there is going to be any real “change.”
Okay, enjoy your Fox News this weekend Shatner and GO FUCK YOURSELF WITH A HIGH HARD ONE whilst you are at it too boo-yah!
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
You can say what you want, and those guys may well be (or have been in Atwater’s case) scum of the earth, but they could flat out win elections.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:33 pm
Palin seems to be part of the dieing “bible belt” portion of politics. She focuses too much on the good ole’ Christian way of life than in the politics for today. Like I’ve said dozens of times on this site McCain could’ve held up better in the election if he chose Romney as his running mate instead of Palin. However, McCain was going for that “maverick” image and tried to pump up his own base. Totally different election in 2008 than in 2000. Each election has a different vibe, and the Republicans just misjudged it.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:34 pm
-1000 Young Lefty — ditto the above for you then too. Pussy too, as I never see you at least like Shatner write anything of substance here either despite my disagreement.

Hey Paolo, please find me ONE comment where I defended Bush on this site, ever. Please, I have some time I can waste.
You’re smacking right now of a fucking conspiracy theorist right now and it’s not a good color for you. The Republican bashing has gone on long enough on this site, and just because I don’t have the same views as you doesn’t mean I have to sit here and shut up. I usually watch CNN and FOX, staying away from HDL or MSNBC since they’re just awful.
Also, you’re last line makes me think that you’re either 50+ or that you’ve watched “Scent of a Woman” too many times.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:40 pm
you’re dead on with this, and the republican’s are being left in the dust while they wonder why what they used to do doesn’t work anymore but they continue to do it. see: counter budget/stimulus proposals the great john boehner and eric cantor rolled out. they banked on just getting everyone talking about a counter proposal to the Dems, but forgot that they needed some type of substance for everyone to talk about, especially since that kind of news hits the net and catches fire within moments.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:40 pm
Paolo – I clicked your newshounds link, and found this was the headline fo the fourth story: Are Glenn Beck and His Guest Terrorists? It would seem to me that you’re not quite getting an objective accounting of what is said on Fox News. It’s probably easier to just watch it, and decide for yourself what is egregious and what is not. Also, that method has the benefit of not making you sound like a self righteous asshole, like you do when you say things like “Fox News is full of rightwing agenda. I know this because I don’t watch Fox News”.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
Ok so we understand – Disagree with Paolo=wrong? I didn’t know Paolo knew all.
Anyway, I still think the party can back on track but like Moleman said, there’s no face to the party right now.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:43 pm
that’s being incredibly reactive though. Kind of like the Red Sox or yankees trading for a player just becuase the other team signed a big name. it gets you nowhere b/c you’re spending more time thinking about something that really doesn’t effect you except in public perception. which if you’re proactive and able to manage, you can easily turn that around if your savvy enough.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:43 pm
if michael steele would have been brought along slowly instead being fast tracked so the republicans could say “see! we like black people!” he would have been a good choice. and him trying to show how “street” he is kinda sunk him before he left the dock.

July 3rd, 2009 at 3:47 pm
It doesn’t matter dude. If you show the least bit of conservative leanings, then you’re automatically labeled as part of the vast, right wing conspiracy, a Bush apologist, and a Hannity/Beck lemming. I do have to give these people that do this credit though. They manage to pull it off without even a hint of irony or self awareness.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Been there and done that a lot already Younglefty no thanks keep your conditioning of their propaganda to yourself. Oh definitely I don’t buy into all the hyperbole in either case, but at least on a website I can pick and choose and often they expose what folks like you miss as you nod graciously in a zombie state when it is stated or goes across some crawl on Fox News. Such sites are great for another view on the reality of matters beyond the managed dissent that we know in a “free” society under the guise of bipartisan bickering. They and their readers are the only check on the (almost entirely New York!) media as had a stranglehold on “exceptions” to our “freedoms.”

Man, politcal Friday is back with a vengeance. Not sure if it clears out a blog faster than SuperAndy or LOSV but, it’s probably close.
Here’s my two cents… The types of people that irritate me politically are those that push their agenda on to other people. As lefty said, people are free to believe what they want to. Insert or interject with an opinion, don’t push your ideology on someone. It’s what is driving some people away from the left or right. If you’re goal is to get someone to side with you, then you’re accomplishing the exact opposite.
AMURRRRICA!
I think the Cubs game is on. Probably go watch that.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:56 pm
McCain lost because he was against a PR dream and a catchy slogan. The country was tired of the way things were, and wanted change from the norm. It didn’t hurt that he was also black, so he finally tapped into a voting block that needed a boost. Also, he was portrayed as young and hip, something McCain is/was obviously not. That got the young vote riled up.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:58 pm
As Bill Maher said, rednecks really, really want to fuck her.
July 3rd, 2009 at 3:59 pm
I don’t care if anyone disagrees with me except those zombies who don’t have some original thoughts instead of the typical Fox News/GOP/MSNBC/Democratic talking points. I am convinced there is at least one of each card-carrying GOP and Democratic Party shill on here from what I have read even though they are few overall and most folks here don’t seem to buy what either cabal is selling lock, stock, and barrel unlike especially those Fox News zombies (you still don’t hear many folks who are devotees of MSNBC though they might watch it occasionally though it still really sucks).
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:00 pm
He was “snooty”…why? Because he made money?
Also jackass, the economy tanked while the campaigning was going on. That was Romney’s strength. If you don’t think that Romney’s expertise on the subject would have had ANY factor on an election when that was THE MAIN TOPIC then you, sir, are an idiot.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:00 pm
im sorry but i cannot stomach maher…there is just something about him that makes me want to punch him in the face numerous times.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
@Taguchi – Tina Fey did a better Palin than Palin did haha. I’d rather have Tina Fey than Palin — Any day.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:02 pm
GSG – I didn’t ever think McCain had a chance in the general. That’s why I voted for Romney in the primary. McCain, who never had a shot, was able to pull a fast one on primary voting Republicans. Huckabee, who had no legitimate shot at winning the primary, basically served as a method of pulling voters away from Romney, to the benefit of McCain. The general election was lost well before either convention.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:02 pm
As Bill Maher said, rednecks really, really want to fuck her.
and liberals really, really wanna hate fuck her
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Shatner’s the GOP shill on here then. Game on fucker. I know now because you have characterised me as something I am not. Most of us are free thinkers on here unlike your lame partisan water carrying pussy ass.
In order to marginalise dissent, you are now trying to potray me as something I am not, as is characteristic of anyone with an authoritarian agenda of any political stripe.
Shatner, fuck off like I told you before. See if you can convince someone else here to fall into the same trance you are in. I am not out here to convince anyone as much as just put forth some original thoughts and learn from others with them.
Shatner when you have an original thought that is not one of the many Republican talking points or your agenda to marginalise dissent with such tactics of labelling, get back to us. That is probably never.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:03 pm
I’m one of the few Republicans that like Maher. He’s a funny guy, although he falls into the Hannity party of just booking guests that agree with him, with the occasional quiet guest that has an opposing view.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Before the election, a lot of Democrats might have voted for McCain because he wasn’t a typical partisan tool. One of the big reasons why he lost was because he decided to stop being who he was and contradicted a lot of the things that made moderates like him in the first place.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:04 pm
is sponge still here?
What did “I wont ass” mean? And yes, I’m changing the subject.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:05 pm
I didn’t say you did, but you sure won’t bash him or his real controller Darth Cheney will you? If so, fire away? Otherwise go back to trying to work your shill influence away from me and others with original thoughts you fuckin’ political hack.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:06 pm
You mean he’s not realer than real-deal holyfield
And now all you hookas and hos know how he feels?
Well, if its good enough to get broke off a proper chunk
will he take a small piece of some of that funky stuff?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:06 pm
I agree with Brock on many things but probably not politics, but look here Shatner here is another free and original thinker seeking out information for himself instead of just swallowing a lot like you and your possible cohort lefty.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Remember what I said about the lack or irony and self awareness?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:08 pm
+10 that link is hilarious.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:09 pm
*or = of
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:09 pm
and another dem i cant stand…jon stewart. i was watching a episode where he thought it was such a good idea to pay our adversaries in iraq instead of killing them. the dude he had on when he said this said that one of the guys they paid was asked if he still wanted to kill american troops he said “not today” after he was paid.
how is that productive? so when he runs out of money he will want to kill us again so keep paying him? that is just dumb as fuck. it reminded me of paying a bully your milk money everyday just so you wouldnt have to deal with him. fuck that pay the money to equip the troops better and just put an end to him forever. or pay the troops more.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:09 pm
blockquote>It doesn’t matter dude. If you show the least bit of conservative leanings, then you’re automatically labeled as part of the vast, right wing conspiracy, a Bush apologist, and a Hannity/Beck lemming. I do have to give these people that do this credit though. They manage to pull it off without even a hint of irony or self awareness.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I’m in a trance because I don’t walk lock-step with you, Paolo? Go fuck yourself. You’re the one on here acting all self-righteous and telling me that my opinions are wrong. Who the fuck are you to tell me what I think is wrong? I said I was tired of the republican bashing and even followed that up by APOLOGIZING if I went off ona rant to you before, but you followed it up with ONE link and NO arguements toback up any of your points.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them a “shill” or a “mouth” of your opposing party’s underlings.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I’ve never seen anyone more obsessed with man on man oral sex than Paolo. He’s like Perez Hilton squared.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Political discourse at its finest.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:14 pm
“But wait, I am not really a hard core Republican just because I won’t bash Darth Cheney and Bush! I have one black friend too! I like Bill Maher sometimes!”
Otherwise you are right about the Hannity trap and Bill Maher’s own bias in stacking his panel, and I’ll give you credit for that, but I’ll leave it to the readers to buy or not your true agenda given especially what you don’t say about your own piece of shit GOP party that would be with great merit for its current state Shatner.
And when you are a guy who supported Romney, well I think most folks reading here should know enough plus of course the throwing out of the charge of “conspiracy theorist” quite quickly at someone who challenges what you and your party establishment and Fox News work feverishly to get the masses to just swallow even after so many years of clusterfucks.
Keep trying to show yourself as “well wait, I am not really a hardcore ‘loyal’ Republican shill here really!” Shatner. See how it works whether I am here or not to call you out on it EVERY FUCKIN’ TIME like that Mike NYC who has all but disappeared for the most part at last.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:17 pm
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:18 pm
Paolo, I’m not gonna back down. I’ll just keep arguing with you today because I’m not gonna just walk away like you’d like me to. You’re only points have been that because I watch FOX news and disagree with you have been:
“You’re a shill!”
“Sluper”
“Jizslurper”
“Associated Loon”
“Swallower”
Wow, paolo, you sure have good arguments to back up your limited points!
How about instead of name calling everyone just because you’re not smart enough to keep up you just shit your mouth, turn off your computer and then read a book.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:18 pm
when i was on my high school debate team i won 10 debates in a row with this as my closing statement…it didnt matter what topic i was debating i just said that and dropped the mic. i retired after 10 because really i just wanted to go out on top and because people started asking why a 7th year senior is allowed to be on the debate team
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Maher doesn’t stack his panel. On Politically Incorrect he used to have conservatives on constantly, more so than liberals. He was also mean as hell to them. Now when he gets one he treats it like a rare jewel he’s afraid to break. I think conservatives (other than Hitchens, who owns Maher) are scared to do his show now, he knows it, and he’s been trying to be kinder to the one’s he gets.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Paolo:
Bush and Cheney were/are idiots, but so is every other politician in the US, Democrat and Republican. Who, other than Obama, could the Dems possibly run up there right now, other than Hillary?. They ALL are idiots. What is the deal with someone who says the word “Republican” and is immediately an evil neocon?
Obama got elected because, as GSG and younglefty said, it was an “anybody else but a Republican” election (”change for the sake of change”). McCain was seen as Eisenhower/Nixon running against JFK.
My complaint against Obama for the last year (yes, check my posts), were that he was inexperienced, willing to “socialize” our country for his interpretation of the common good, and the fact that the media has sucked his dick for the last 2 years. I also said he won’t keep a lot of his promises once he saw how fucked up things are, and he hasn’t (Patriot Act, Gitmo-to some extent, Iraq, pro-choice, and Don’t ask/don’t tell).
He will be re-elected in 2012, because of the huge block of voters that will never NOT vote for him. By then, the Republicans will have figured out that Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney cannot be the voice of this party and they will come back with a younger, more moderate group that will try to appeal to a younger, more moderate demographic. If they don’t, they won’t win an election ever again, as the national demographic has gotten younger, composed of more minorities, and more liberal.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Remember when TBL went on his rant about people who constantly say “everything sucks”? Paolo, you fit that bill. I like how you denigrate everyone’s opinion (even stooping to name calling), yet never offer yours. Just be careful when you climb down off that high horse dude.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:20 pm
+10 for Mrejr
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:22 pm
and i said hey if a 20 year old can play high school basketball then i should be allowed to drop some knowledge on all ya’all…then i drove away in my iroc-z with “every girl is crazy for a sharp dressed man” blaring.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:23 pm
@Taguchi – I forgot about the “Politically Incorrect” days. Thanks for calling me on that ha.
@Mrejr – I believe that’s the famous “O.J. defense”.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Were you also rocking your jean jacket and REO Speedwagon t-shirt?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:24 pm
+2 Brock. Oh he is just awful. When you watch the “hats” clip, watch the face of Joe Scarborough who was politically and racially embarassed as truthfully many would have been in the same spot. For a society that prudently and sometimes obsessively works to minimise the negative stereotyping, they all sure fucked up in that clip.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Yes I do. You might want to put down that mirror whilst you post younglefty too.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Mrejr is Billy Madison?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Palin has more chins than Lo Pan’s army.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:28 pm
No, you are in a trance because you cannot fathom dissent beyond the bipartisan construct portrayed by the mainstream media Shatner, and you know damn well as the Republican shill you are so quit trying to fake it. Everyone outside of that construct is a “conspiracy theorist” to partisan scum like you.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
jean jackets are for pussies i had a bitchin leather jacket with fringe and some awesome stone washed cutoff shorts and i also had the oakley outfielder sunglasses on. if you cant be taken serious in that then i ask you gentlemenwhat can you be taken serious in?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
The director commentary on Big Trouble is even better than the movie. Essentially it’s two hours of Russell and Carpenter calling each other old and making fun of the media for taking the movie seriously.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
But it sure does with you calling others “conspiracy theorists” even after all that has happened still not posting one rightfully degrading comment on Darth Cheney and his puppet Bush and the rest of them who went along. Shit or get off the pot you fuckin’ hack. Or should I just plain say PUSSY!
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:30 pm
mrejr is Kenny Powers?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:30 pm
billy madison wishes he was as dumb as me…i invented being dumb
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Congratulations Brock …and funny.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Alright, Paolo, I’m a shill because I chose not to agree with you, whatever. I’ve determined that there really is no point in debating with you because it’s a one sided debate. I say a point, then you call me a slurper. I say you’re an ass and deliver another point, then you call me a shill. Younglefty offers a point, and you call him a jizslurper. What’s the point? You’re so obsessed with everyone needing to agree with you on this subject that it’s not worth my time. When you think of a valid point to argue about let me know, I’ll be on this post just waiting.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:32 pm
kenny powers is hollywoods piss poor imagining of what i would be as a baseball player.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Right. More reality than you will get from those boobs and boobs on Fox News Young Lefty. Maybe you are coming along, but I say read more http://www.realclearpolitics.com, http://www.counterpunch.org, Politico, The Guardian, feeds from the AFP, et cetera to help yourself out of your “trance.”
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Only Paolo can try to prove he’s not a conspiracy theorist by spouting a conspiracy theory.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:34 pm
and shit when my workers comp settlement comes through(every white trash person you know is waiting on a “settlement” of some kind…dont act like im lying) i will have kenny powers’ money
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm
So for me to disagree with Bush would somehow get me int Paolo’s good graces? No, even though I didn’t like Bush, I’m not gonna say anything bad about him just because you want me to. In fact, maybe I’ll trump him up a little just to really piss you off! “Wow, was he a great president or what?! Man, I really wished that him and Chaney could serve a third term! I mean, all republicans loved him, and those stupid desenters are just a bunch of cry babies!”
You’re sad. Oh, and calling me “Pussy” on a web site is real tough.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm
I do plenty of reading thank you. And not just books fed to folks like you to by the GOP for sure. All the same, obviously you can try and ply your agenda on someone else, but count me out here and know I and others are not going away whenever you try your GOP politics on this site Shatner.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Unfortunately it reads correctly. I had told her I’d be out tonight for sure since I stayed in to play poker with the men last night. Her response to that was I wont (be going out), ass. Bothered me all night and today before I got it clarified.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Say what you want about Paolo, but the only thing he despises more than Fox News is homosexuals, and that’s a tough trick to pull off.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:37 pm
lollercoaster
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:37 pm
I’m a conpiracy theorist just like…Darth Chaney and his puppet Bush? Interesting point, Paolo. I didn’t know you could contradict yourself in a single sentence so quickly.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Paolo thinks that me not siting back and supporting his hate for a party that I’m a part of is me pushing agenda…which is exactly what he’s doing.
Bravo.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Wonder where I’ve heard this before?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Right up there with payday loans as staples of the white trash economic diet.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
[wipes nose like michael jackson in the music video "bad"]
/because thats how all badasses wipe their noses…right?right?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:40 pm
(Shatner watch closely if your head is out of your ass for once)
Taguchi, I would expect such a comment from one with largely left-wing views as I observed from you. And don’t deny it like most ideologues will when called out, you are who you are. I notice only liberals think Maher does not stack his panel, for they are those who tend to agree with Maher’s politics after all. This is the same as those who think Hannity doesn’t stack his panel.
The problem with Maher’s show more than his bias is its location in LA, as I had thought mistakenly it was New York, because the crowd is always to the far left as you can tell by their reactions to the panelists. At least though he is trying to diversify his panels unlike Hannity lest of course the “opposing” point of view is Sharpton or some other whackjob with more than some political agenda (television time boo-yah!)
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Paolo just hates homosexuals because they never give him the reach-around he so desperately desires.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:41 pm
I would know nothing about that Shatner? Apparently you do? Wow a log cabin Republican too! Well at least as such you would offer an original perspective, but they might not really like you as much any more on Fox News.
Don’t bother to educate us here about such practices though. We would rather talk about hot chicks as is evident.
Just go back to your gay porn venture and site okay?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:42 pm
I want the 20 minutes I spent reading this post back.
/goes back to lurking
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:43 pm
I’ve said that Hannity stack his panels also, dick. How about you read before you comment.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:43 pm
Olbermann stacks his panels. He has nodding heads because thats what he wants. Maher A. likes to argue, B. is good at arguing, and C. has a better show when he’s doing it. There would be no reason for Maher to stack his panels. I sincerely believe that he has a hard time booking conservatives for his show.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:44 pm
how come wesley snipes isnt given more credit for his star-turn in “bad” i mean he was positively influenced to not give mj any more trouble through the power of a awesomely choreographed dance routine. i tried the same thing when a dude was picking on my sister in junior high but he just gave me a beating that gave me a noticeable limp that i still have. that just goes to show you how talented mj really was.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Shatner just hates being called out for his true identity as a partisan hack, so watch him lower the blows further now folks.
I threw some deserved low ones he was begging for before after telling him to FUCK OFF, which he condemned in numerous ways, but now I see he is coming along perhaps or melting down?
We report you decide.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Bah, you and your silly inconsequential facts. Nonsense I say.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Ah Taguchi if you are in the closet great, but don’t bring that up about yourself ok? I already gave you what you deserve on that count once on this site after you made some really hypocritical remarks that I don’t remember any more anyway.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Are you asking me whether or not you know anything about reach arounds, Paolo?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:46 pm
No, I am not asking, as apparently you do. You brought it up after all!
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:47 pm
That’s right Paolo. You know what I like.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:49 pm
It sure would be a fine start for your own sake Shatner.
I told you to FUCK OFF already, so why would I care about you otherwise?
I ask myself often why all those celebrities have to pass on instead of …ah never mind.
I just don’t want ANY partisan hackjob shit like yours on my sports pages. A few others might agree not to mention be sick of politics for quite awhile after this day!
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Take notes Paolo. That’s the way to call someone a homosexual without looking like a 12 year old.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:51 pm
USA! USA! USA!
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:51 pm
I know you did. Read my comment above along with you Young Lefty on how exactly Hannity stacks his panels like most of his damn network. They are always the really far left types instead of someone who presents more legitimate opposition. Maher is guilty of some of the same, but not near as much. It is television for ratings after all.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Good work, Taguchi haha.
And Paolo, this symbol->? is a “question mark”. When you use said “question mark” at the end of a sentence it is considered a “question”, as in you’re asking me a “question”.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Abe Lincoln was a jizz-slurper
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:55 pm
JPQ your analysis is fine.
Most Republicans nowadays I have observed are in fact Neocons due to their hawkish stances on foreign policy in particular by inserting catch-all phrases like “anti-terrorism” and “war on terror” and “homeland security” to justify just about any position whether military or not.
These are NOT the Republicans of Buchanan or Reagan, who are a dying breed, but rather of the Bush/Cheney stock.
Mind you most Republicans are not even aware of this fundamental schism and live under the illusion that somehow they are a more united party than even the Coalition of Factions we call the Democratic Party.
Of course I could go on further but that is for some other time hopefully long from today.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Vicious blog abuse for the douchebag you are at times? Okay then you don’t get any more for today you’ll have to wait for it another time I guess.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Lincoln it’s more that people don’t understand the different dynamics of the 1800s regarding male relationships. Since women weren’t for anything but fucking your close male friends were the ones that met emotional needs. Lincoln had a “special friend” that to 21st century eyes reads gay, but was really just common at the time. James Buchanan, however, actually was almost certainly gay, and one of the worst presidents ever? Coincidence?
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:58 pm
You telling me to take notes? Go see your log cabin Republican friend first. Let help him you out more for that fine Log Cabin GOP fringe Young Lefty. After all he probably likes them young like you anyway.
Great irony in your name if this were a political blog too.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:59 pm
So, is this the group to which I belong, according to Paolo, supreme arbiter? If so, I’d like to know the qualifications for my association, using actual things I’ve said, and not inferences. Take your time, I’ll wait.
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:59 pm
Ever heard of rhetorical question Shatner? Ah never mind …
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:01 pm
of course he was he was a republican.
/zing!
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:01 pm
soooo…about those ugly red hats that every baseball team has to wear…?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:02 pm
JPQ, well I guess Taguchi explained it well and there is nothing we can do about it … not that we wanted to hear this from a dude here or at all. Taguchi on the left and Shatner and Young Lefty on the right have found each other perhaps? You dudes might want to take that discussion offline.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:02 pm
But I keep hearing that Obama’s the new Lincoln….
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:04 pm
Fair enough I will wait for you to say more you pussy, as you have made your sympathies certainly clear. Try me some other time with one of your hackjobs and maybe I will catch it.
In the meantime I think you have plenty to do with Taguchi and Shatner besides of course fucking yourselves and learning perhaps something about that “reach-around” thing that Shatner proposed.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:06 pm
Sparty, hey, I applaud your spirit and misunderstood you in the end over your comments on soccer, but now I get you about those elitists types whom I can’t stand as a player either.
In fact I hate anyone who whines about anything and says, “You just don’t understand man …” instead of “Well, perhaps I can explain it to you better some other day.”
Many are also abusers of drugs and alcohol if not with other more fundamental issues.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:06 pm
thanks for proving my point
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:07 pm
Most republicans as in what, 75-80%? Whats the “most”, 51%?
I’m really starting to believe he was raped once by a homosexual Republican.
“Because he’s a NEONAZI NEOCON that, like, argues my baseless points, I’m going to call him a Homo!!!
+1,391!!!”
You really are making democrats look bad right now, and it’s sad. Luckily younglefty and I both know that in now way, shape or form do you represent the other democrats on this site. They, unlike you, can offer valid point after valid point without resulting to childish name calling and then getting in a game of “Gotcha!”.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:07 pm
Remember when the plane is about to crash in Almost Famous and everyone is admitting their darkest secrets to each other? Paolo has GOT to be the drummer.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Oh you know reach-arounds, Paolo. You begged for one from me one night at a Log-Cabin Republicans convention. Don’t you remember? You kept going off by saying that you love Bush and Chaney and that Bush should go down as a top-5 president of all time? Doesn’t ring a bell?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Maybe I should’ve included the /sarcasm tag.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:11 pm
yeah they result to grown name calling like “warmonger” and “fearmonger” becaue they think that if you just talk nice to people who want to kill because they think it is a koran that those people will in fact listen to you and be best buds
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:12 pm
I can imagine Paolo saying this.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Actually I don’t know what the hell Paolo’s affiliation is. He’s most likely not a Democrat, just someone who likes to bitch. Like a Jay Sherman or an Andy Rooney.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Shatner, you really don’t get it, I am not a Democrat and have clearly stated that from politics on day one on this site. In fact, all people not agreeing with you are not part of that “liberal media conspiracy.”
You proved my point above too in that like most hacks like yourself, you can’t see anything beyond the bipartisan construct. Until you can accept the notion that many folks far more than I have views that differ in a “free” country from those of EITHER major political party, and constitute also an important swing vote as your party leaders in fact do understand, and are not merely “conspiracy theorists” with which you certainly crossed the line and began to expose your true identity and purpose here, you won’t get anywhere for yourself.
Again, I could care less if you got in a car accident this weekend and just died a bloody death, but I sure would care if that hurt or affected anyone else involved of course. If you should have a tragedy befall you, I hope it is with you alone.
So I hope you understand now Shatner that so long as you don’t try to spin this site into some forum for your GOP talking points to mess things up, I just don’t care about you at all.
Hopefully that makes things clearer. Good luck otherwise.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:14 pm
Wow Shatner …delusional now? Ok off the cliff you go then go for it …floor it!
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:14 pm
So you’re a compassionate conservative?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Exactly. It’s easy to sit there on the sidelines and criticize, and not offer any opinion of your own.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:16 pm
no i got the sarcasm. my point is that there good and bad on both sides and getting into a heated argument about politics is like fighting over whether a certain beer is great tasting or less filling
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Paolo has officially ran out of arguments, so he hopes I die.
Success? On my part yes.
Oh, I didn’t say “Liberal Media Conspiracy”. It was cute though for you to try and spin that towards me.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Again, I could care less if you got in a car accident this weekend and just died a bloody death, but I sure would care if that hurt or affected anyone else involved of course. If you should have a tragedy befall you, I hope it is with you alone.
So you’re a compassionate conservative?
You don’t need to be one. We have “Obama-Care!!!!!”
/yes we can’d
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:17 pm
Paolo- no worries. unfortunately, most of the discussions that ensue on here we are unable to communicate everything clearly.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:18 pm
i think we can all agree on one thing….
michigan sucks?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:18 pm
@Mrejr – I agree. It’s just a pain in the ass when someone comes out of nowhere to bash a side then has no real points to back it up.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:18 pm
I think this discussion has devolved into something less about politics, and more about hypocrisy and name calling.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Muck Fichigan!
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
boy. Ive spent the last hour on my phone reading all the comments in here. Great stuff. High comedy.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Michigan Rules!
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
NO I WILL NOT AGREE WITH THAT MREJR!!! haha
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Amazing move by the Lakers. Perfect place for Artest.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:22 pm
Michigan should be contracted.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:22 pm
I blame sponge.
I’ve got a new meme for y’all. For comments 48 to current…
/word vomit’d
C’mon Cubbies…pull this one out.
/insert dick joke
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:22 pm
To everyone else on here I should apologize for all the political talk, and for stooping to Paolos level ha. It just pisses me off
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:23 pm
I guess Phil Mushnick didn’t think it was too soon:
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:23 pm
/fixed for TBL
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:24 pm
go back to slurping more of what you really love to slurp.
[drops mic] [exits stage left]
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:24 pm
So…how about them…Lakers?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:25 pm
TSH- Burnett has been nails lately. Earning his keep.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:25 pm
I wanna Jake Fox grand slam, if you know what I mean.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:26 pm
Ive been to Michigan, it’s pretty nice…except for Flint and parts of Detroit. Any place that’ll give me $10,000+ just to buy a house and live there for at least one year is alright in my book.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:26 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, your new undisputed comment champion, mrejr.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:27 pm
Iracane would be proud. WALKOFF WALK! CUBS WIN!
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:29 pm
As douchey as paolo is you guys are probably worse for trying to have a discussion with him. What did you think would happen? Debating a mentally deranged bigot tends to not end well.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:29 pm
That was kind of funny Taguchi. I am compassionate OR converservative, or harsh OR liberal, or some combination, or NONE OF THE ABOVE depending on the issue. Many folks can’t get out of the concocted bipartisan construct to label others instead of just hearing out the view first. This is true for many in the GOP as well as in the Democratic party, though I have found more Democrats wiling to hear out folks than GOPers nowadays. That was not the case I found until about 1998.
Wow the pot calling the kettle black? Younglefty, most readers who read this site, a few enjoying my comments and many hating them and me, know damn well I offer many an opinion also backed by example, experience, or evidence on here. Feel free to read many a past post of mine on usually the daily roundups or anything Lakers, Colts, Cleveland, Soccer, Really Hot Babes, Las Vegas, et cetera.
Note that when I offer my opinion on anything non-sports, in some cases but not always because it might not jive with their largely partisan views, most disagree initially.
That is the same in actual life for me not just here, so no I am no caricature as some think lest I am just goofing on someone, as I keep a close circle of friends all over the country and stay pretty quiet with good reason especially where I live now in 1980s Georgia known otherwise as most of PA outside of the City of Philadelphia proper. (I live in Metro Philly)
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:30 pm
i felt like rabbit at the end of 8 mile
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:31 pm
Ah and now PA douchebag and certified Paolo Hater Duder chimes in …but at least he knows to fuck off already.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:31 pm
Ive been to Michigan, it’s pretty nice…except for Flint and most of Detroit.
lived in the pretty nice area for several years. Most of Detroit itself is terrible. The area down by the riverfront is okay (hear there are new revitalization projects being done now, too), and the Fox Theatre/Stadium Area is very nice as well. Of course, Greektown is the place to eat. However, those 3 places are a small area of a very large city. It sucks.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:31 pm
meant to blockquote that first part.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Dude don’t blame me — you like others dig their own holes well after I tell them like you to FUCK OFF, or I guess I could say more nicely, “Let’s agree to disagree and part ways.” But I am not that nice to losers.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Some people call it a slingblade. I call it a kaiser blade.
/mustard n’ biscuits
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:33 pm
well done
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:33 pm
You’re right Duder. From now on, I’ll do whatever it takes to not get into political discussions on a sports site hah.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:34 pm
beat up, cuckhold’d, and broke?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Well that I can agree with, but I told Shatner to fuck off a long time ago and then …that’s why I called for the cooler early, because I know when thing are headed for this …
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:35 pm
Never saw Sling Blade. This place and “Ron & Fez” talk about it all the time.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:35 pm
You are welcome Texas, though of course even though I saw more coming, never like this today, but at least the battle lines are drawn and clear for awhile.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:36 pm
Yes, all my fault paolo, I apologize.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Hey why not then just give yourself the guillotine then Young Lefty? The world will go on without you irrespective of your lameness no worries.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:38 pm
And on that I can agree as well, but they will happen whether we like it or not.
That’s why now we have a cooler too.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:39 pm
wrong. finally having the courage to use my skills to stand up and prove that i do in fact have talent. remember at the end he totally beat that dude in a rap battle and better things were in store for him.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:39 pm
Remember when Perez Hilton called the Black Eyed Pea guy gay and then was surprised he got his ass beat? Those kind of situations happen to Paolo ALL the time.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Wow, this is one hellacious thread.
Why don’t you all go fuck yourselves with a high hard one and call it a night?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:41 pm
You should probably watch that movie.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Paolo has a little bit of the loveable bigot quality that made Gran Torino good. So stupid its funny.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:41 pm
And so it will be with you mrejr. Perhaps you will wander the world, helping people, having adventures.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:42 pm

July 3rd, 2009 at 5:44 pm
Uh, first what would you know about ass beatings? I bet you have never ever gotten in a fight in your life have you?
And second, you are tough to talk when you are in the closet clearly from multiple posts about liking it high and hard up the ass Taguchi.
I told you before not to go there for your own sake, but here you are, so take note everyone.
He really loves abuse I guess.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Talk more Baylor football!!! Theyre totally gonna win 5 games this year!!
/clown
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:47 pm
At least I can be an example to others. I’m like a severed head at the gate in medieval times. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through that.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:47 pm
But Mrejr doesn’t like people really …more than me even with most folks, because really do most folks you run into randomly have any special appeal or anything original to say?
Sure a few after you get to know them, but man are those odds longer by the year …I guess that view comes with age I don’t know.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Engage in fisticuffs? What do you talk me for, a foreigner?
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Yeah and let’s keep it that way damnit! Carry on with the mission there Mrejr you represent well.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:49 pm
well you will learn that after high school ends that the friends you had through high school will drift away.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:50 pm
A reflective, philosophical Paolo. Tear to my eye.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:50 pm
Paolo, you’re like a fifteen year old boy. You think the coolest three things in the world are fighting, calling people gay, and your own opinion.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Clown snap out of it! You might be learning homerism from Duder! You know bragging about your sorry team, putting down other teams, parroting your local homer jerkwater media, and never having key wins or trophies to show for it!

taguchi, dont forget porn. Surprised his keyboard still works.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Uh no …Taguchi at least you are who you are and have made your points clear previously unlike many a shill and hack on here who popped in above. I could care less anyway for almost any of your views, but hey at least your posts are original not puppeted or parroted.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:55 pm
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:56 pm
dont forget pantomimed
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:56 pm
That’s better, but there is no crying on TBL either. Snap out of it Duder.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:01 pm
Uh, with a line like that after the previous post and so many others, there is no question for sure …I’ll leave it to everyone to take him for what he really is, and hey Taguchi now that we know most don’t care no worries.
Back to sports I would hope on that note.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:06 pm
like I said before, Baylor would finish 3rd in the Big Ten. They just have the misfortune of playing in the best division in college football.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:09 pm
this has to be the most commented one liner of all time
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Some seasons yes.
Not the best division in most years. Don’t get homer on us and brag about divisions and conferences though until its teams win key bowl and out-of-conference games against worthy opponents.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:15 pm
The real irony of this whole post? Ron Artest showed up at the beginning, and a mammoth, record TBL fight followed.
But still that was five years ago and as I commented way, way above, I still like the situation for the Lakers.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:16 pm
whew! i am tired from trying to work and read all that at the same time.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:18 pm
it is all tbl’s fault for not posting anything else today.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:04 pm
Most of Detroit itself is terrible
They have a PHENOMENAL airport though, I was shocked.
TBL, please give this entire section a tab on the home page, I agree with Texans…extremely high comedy…
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:45 pm
must be talking about the Northwest terminal. That is nice.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:53 pm
must be talking about the Northwest terminal. That is nice.
ha, you guessed it. I was transfixed by this fountain that shot short streams of water through the air in arcs. Pretty sure if I was baked, it would have made my top 10 life experiences.
