JaMarcus Russell Will Have to Pry the Raiders QB Job from Jeff Garcia’s Cold, Dead Hands
1-liner, Fantasy Sports, NFL July 6th. 2009, 5:00pmThe Raiders: “Not knocking JaMarcus or anybody else on the team, but I just have a belief in my own abilities; those things have me feeling that I am the best quarterback on the team,” Garcia said in a phone interview from his home in San Diego. “That’s just how I approach the game. That’s how I approach my situation.” Instead of having the senile Al Davis make the call, why not poll the WRs – Javon Walker, Chaz Schilens and rookies Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward-Bey – to see who they’d perfer? Don’t ask TE Zach Miller; he and Russell click so much that we pick him up to start at TE in our fantasy team anytime Russell starts. [LA Times]

That sounds like a great idea for chemistry purposes.

hell why dont they poll the rbs to see what plays should be called(it probably wouldnt hurt actually)

the only thing dumber than the idea to poll the receivers is the idea that you should exclude a TE because he’s had success with Russell.

If Jeff Garcia sees any time at QB in place of a non-injured JaMarcus Russell, then Tom Cable needs to be fired immediately. There is not enough talent on the roster to seriously believe Oakland can win now, and the primary goal needs to be developing the franchise players.
On a normal football team, the coach and/or GM would publicly put this issue to bed immediately. On the Raiders they will probably have a “QB competition.”

I have to say, hearing so much static out of Oakland gives this Denver fan a chub. By all means, Al, take the hint and bench the kid you drafted first overall two years ago for Jeff Garcia…

Isn’t Garcia washed up?
