Looks Like Those USC Players Who Were Cited by Police on July 4 Had a Helluva Time Partying in Nantucket
College Football, Courts, Legal July 11th. 2009, 3:42pm
As noted Friday, a couple USC football players, Jordan Campbell and Everson Griffen, were cited by police over the July 4 weekend for “breach of peace” (read: being loud). It doesn’t appear as if they’ll face any further action, (they were not arrested, as the LA Daily News reported) but they’ll be writing a letter of apology to somebody. A reader was able to find a couple pictures from what look like a spectacular party. Jordan Campbell (flexing on the left; below, he’s singing) and Everson Griffen sorta stick out (flexing; below, he’s sandwiched between two bikini-clad revelers), as expected.
The photos came from here, and that blog called the July 4 bash was called the largest in Nantucket history. Far be it from us to critique a man’s swim trunks … but can someone Campbell and Griffen that the Daniel Craig/James Bond bathing suit is what guys are wearing now these days?

I know you’re big on those tbl (I remember you mentioning them a week or so ago), but something tells me these football players are not fitting their thighs, butts and anacondas in those cute little things they wear at Jones Beach

I think you forgot the /sincere tag TBL. Hopefully?

“Where the white women at?”
July 11th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
There once were these playas in Nantucket
With these white girls that just wanted to suck it
But their trunks were too gay
So the girls said “no way”
that’s when they decided to untuck it

Another +1.5 for PL to give him a +3 for the day atop the leader board.
Yes, that pretty much describes East Coast douchebags, with their mecca of course Guido Beach (YouTube it)

Random question — why did Lesnar leave WWE? Were they minimizing/phasing out his storyline?
July 11th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
i really wanted to work in a Joe and Brian Hackett reference (Wings, baby!), but i couldn’t. sorry to let everyone down.

Everson Griffen sporting a ‘roid belly.
July 11th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
Possible …or he is just bloated from drinking and eating all day and full of shit like the rest of that lame crowd in Nantucket, who in turn are always full of shit off the beach in their cushy suburbs or trendy neighbourhoods anyway.
July 11th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
Speaking of roids, Is it me or does Lesnar look awfully flabby now compared to his UFC days…

i’ll never get the pregnant women with a bikini, but carry on.
Aubrey O’Day is a complete non-entity who got some work on her helmet to look like jenna, and then maybe did her chest, and now she’s pretending to be a singer?

Hilarious Duffy …what brand? No scotch, gin, or tequila for me here though.
July 11th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Glenlivet?
July 11th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
CRM, Lesnar -240, St.Pierre -300. who do ya like better out of the two. I’m gonna take one of the fights
July 11th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
Maybe the largest bash in Nantucket, but this one in The Vineyard was a doozy

July 11th, 2009 at 5:44 pm
good call on maccallan. i’ve wanted to get a bottle, but ive never seen it priced under $50. that’s steep, IMO.
then again, when we hit the wine shop, we usually only buy bottles in the 8-20 range.
July 11th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Generally it’s The Glenlivet or Laphroaig. If I have some serious money to spend on Scotch then I go with… oh wait, that’s never happened. Blended Scotch, unless it’s the Blue Label, is a waste of money. Either spend 5-10 more bucks for a single malt, or pick up a good bourbon or irish.

20 is pricey anymore. I wouldn’t pay more than 14 for a bottle of wine, given how many good ones there are in the 11 and below range. One of our favorites around her was once on sale for 4.99/bottle, plus a dollar of total on a purchase of 6 + it was mix and match within the brand. We bought 3 cases of 5 dollar wine. Good times.
July 11th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
I’ve been finding lots of great Malbec’s for under $20 a bottle.
July 11th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
since this is a slow sports week, maybe there should be a ‘good, cheap bottles of wine’ 1-liner.
July 11th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
tbl: have you read the post from the freakonomics blog about blind wine testings? http://freakonomics.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/16/cheap-wine/
it’s a good read
July 11th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
there was a great video of this party on youtube i watched it via barstool sports, don’t know if its still out there, it was like 10 mins long
July 11th, 2009 at 7:02 pm

Malbec is tremendous wine. It goes great with lamb. I may be mistaken, but I think all Malbec is Chilean/Argentenian. Our favorites are Alamo and Concha y Toro, both of which go for maybe 11 a bottle, tops (at least in New Hampshire).
July 11th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
That was funny GFunk.
There’s also a very long New Yorker article about Fred Franzia, a pretty sketchy, large scale wine maker famous for Two Buck Chuck which I’ve not tried, but has made quite an impression on the wine industry.
As will all New Yorker articles, it takes about 8 trips to the toilet to read.

it would have been better if they got her before she wiped the blow off her nose.
July 11th, 2009 at 7:15 pm
The abstract sounds pretty interesting. I’ll read the whole thing at some point (maybe). The abstract doesn’t mention it explicitly, but I assume that’s also the company behind Franzia the box wine? I drank a ton of that shit in college.
July 11th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
I enjoy Pascual Toso, Kaiken, and belive it or not one called Layer Cake.
July 11th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
but I assume that’s also the company behind Franzia the box wine?
Funny you should ask, but no. That’s part of the rub of the Fred Franzia story. His dad founded Franzia winery, but ended up losing it to one of the big boys. He’s also related to the Gallos. He (Fred Franzia) is super bitter, a real creep, and was once even jailed for fraudulently mislabeling his wine. But he’s been pushing the market towards less expensive wines in California, and he’s buying up sputtering wineries left and right.

I think GSP is closer to a lock.

thx
who ‘ya got? Mir or Lesner?
July 11th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
no idea if this was mentioned earlier but how many posts on monday about artie langes dui?
July 11th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
hmmmmm…i keep going back and forth because with mir there is the “if he doe this this and this he can totally win” but all those involve lesnar rushing the fight. i dont think that is gonna happen this time around and i think lesnar is gonna win via ko…he might even try to tap mir which would be hilarious
July 11th, 2009 at 8:39 pm
happy aniversary jpq. just another notch for the most interesting man..
July 11th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
thx duder. those notches get harder to earn as you get into your 40’s. I earned about thirty belt’s worth from 16 to 35-lol
mrejr: I never thought much of Mir, but also haven’t seen him recently. I know he’s got a lot more experience than Lesnar, so if he can avoid the big haymaker, he may be able to beat him. If not, he’s in trouble
enjoy the fights, I’m out
July 11th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
later ….i hope you win at bingo tonight
