Our two fondest Daniel Gibson NBA memories: Three years ago, as a playoff apparition in a surprise elimination of the Pistons, and at the end of last season when he lit up Philly as the Cavs tried to tie Boston’s NBA record for most home wins in a season (they lost in OT – skip the first 20 seconds). While trolling the web this morning, we randomly stumbled upon some photos of the former Texas guard and his girlfriend, singer Keyshia Cole.

Cole – songs of hers you may know: here and here – apparently did some show in Brooklyn this week and Gibson attended. She’s 27 and he’s 23, and for Gibson’s sake, let’s hope he read the latest from Jason Whitlock over at Fox Sports, who was blunt – and devastatingly accurate – about his thoughts on athletes getting married:

I’ve never understood why a college or professional athlete would get married. They enter into the institution of lying/marriage with as much chance of remaining sexually faithful as I do entering a Wendy’s and adhering to my diet. Their constant travel, discretionary income, peer-pressure influence and celebrity status expose them to women eager to please, adept at sleaze and scarred by emotional, mental and physical disease.

By all accounts, this may be Cole’s second dalliance with an athlete. Some photos led bloggers to believe she was dating boxer Floyd Mayweather. Regardless of your thoughts on her neck tattoo, Gibson must be getting sartorial advice from Damon Jones:
