Source: Oregon State College Basketball Coach Craig Robinson Chooses the Author For His Book*

According to a source, we hear that ESPN’s Andy Katz was close to writing a book with Oregon State basketball coach Craig Robinson - who’s brother-in-law is President Barack Obama - but recently lost out to Aram Goudsouzian, a history professor who wrote this book on Sidney Poitier. As our source tells it, Katz and Robinson are friendly - you may recall Katz is the one who talked brackets with President Obama - and after the Final Four, ESPN’s top college basketball reporter went to Corvalis to spend a few days with Robinson. The working title, according to a January AP story, is ‘A Game of Character.’ [UPDATE: Goudsouzian emailed us saying that he is not authoring the book.]

Jay,
just psoted this on the beckham, but here’s the new Icahn stadium on Randalls Island. They completely rehauled it, except its now just a track facility within the “stadium” and the new soccer field, inexplicably, is outside of it.

It’s good to see I wasn’t the only one with the same thoughts on this clown. The guy did more national interviews last year than Coach K and Roy Williams combined, while going 18-18 at national powerhouse Oregon State.

They only got to 18-18 because they won the prestigious College Basketball Invitational Tournament. They ended the real season at 13-17.
Which leads me to the real question about Craig Robinson: When is he going to find a real program to coach? A real programs fan base would want their coach fired after a 13-17 season; Oregon State turns them into a messiah.
