Erin Andrews’ Lawyers Have Spoken About the Creepy Peephole Video, Which is Unfortunately Real
Erin Andrews, What the hell is wrong with people July 17th. 2009, 11:00pm
By now you’ve surely heard – earlier today, a website (it is completely NSFW) posted some grainy video of a blonde who everyone thought might have been ESPN’s Erin Andrews, naked in a hotel room. (She’s doing mundane things like curling her hair. The video is still out there – cached – but we’re not going to link to it for a variety of legal reasons.) Well, the video is of Andrews, her legal team just confirmed. It appears to us as if this was completely premeditated – as if people knew where Andrews was staying and holes were drilled in the wall. This is equal parts mind-blowing and sickening. Moments ago, Andrews’ legal team, through ESPN, sent a press release wide.
LOS ANGELES, Calif., July 17 /PRNewswire/ — With respect to recent Internet postings of Erin Andrews, she has authorized her attorney, Marshall B. Grossman of Bingham McCutchen LLP, to issue the following statement:
“While alone in the privacy of her hotel room, Erin Andrews was surreptitiously videotaped without her knowledge or consent. She was the victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure that others are not similary violated in the future. Although the perpetrator or perpetrators of this criminal act have not yet been identified, when they are identified she intends to bring both civil and criminal charges against them and against anyone who has published the material. We request respect of Erin’s privacy at this time, while she and her representatives are working with the authorities.”
We don’t even know where to begin, so we won’t. But the Erin Andrews fanaticism just veered from fawning and sad to downright disturbing.

I literally just saw this and was coming over here to talk about it. Totally creepy. Some dude must have staked her out or something.
/side note…good god does she have a nice body
//I feel dirty.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
im turning in for the night, but i really hope nobody comes in with the lame comments.
YES, too early
July 17th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Lame comments about EA or about going to bed at eleven?
I’m going to try to find it, I want to see it I won’t lie.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
EA is done doing reporting gigs in 1 year, 18 mos max. She is going to do Dancing, then will be in a studio show never being on the road again. Book it.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Also, whoever did this is sick and scary, but at the same time, incredibly industrious. Police are looking for this man.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
shouldn’t be too hard to nab these clowns … surely there are video cameras that picked up who came and went … or who was staying in the room next to her …
it’s not she’s staying in fleabags.
oh, and yes, feel free to mock the 11 am bed time. waking up at 630 to play some hoops! get the weekend started right
July 17th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
I dunno, I’d think if someone were smart enough to pull this off (sorry, something like this takes some intelligence as far as being deceptive goes) they probably wouldn’t be staying right next to her.
Curling your hair naked is dangerous though, that shit gets hot.
Also, Doghead Fish 90minute IPA is a hell of a beer.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Boris the blade? Boris the bullet dodger?
July 17th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Yessir. I’m itching to go to one of the Dogfish Head Ale Houses and try the 120 minute IPA.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
That’s like 20 percent alcohol right? That would be stellar. The highest I’ve gone is the mid teens Rogue Imperial line.
I was drinking this beer in New York City last weekend called Delirium Tremens (which is the term for the tremors you get detoxing …lol) and it was like 9 percent, and I can honestly say it was the best beer I’ve ever had. It was so crisp, didn’t taste at all like so many high ABV beers taste (like motor oil).
July 17th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
i have to admit…im a little pissed because i didnt see the vid before it was taken down…kinda like a car wreck…you cant help but look…oh, who am i kidding…i wanted to see her naked too…
July 17th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
That’s right, mole, and from what I hear, it’s phenomenal. In my estimation, Dogfish Head is probably the best brewery in the country.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Avoid the 120 like the plague. It’s not that good. Too sugary sweet, adn the hops are lost. If you want strong and super hoppy, get yourself a bottle of Founders Devil Dancer. 112IBUs and 12%
July 17th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Based on my minimal legal training (and intoxication level at this point) is this going to be a invasion of privacy and distribution case? Sadly, this guy is looking at a fine, legal fees and minimal time, right?
What a fucking scumbag.
/feels hypocritcal for seeing Harry Potter and ogling the girl tonight
July 17th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
and either of your two (mole or young) every try DFH’s Forte?
July 17th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
Aww, now I’m sad.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
don’t be. You just saved yourself about $7 on a bottle of it.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
Don’t fret Lefty, the site I goto for beer advice, Beer Advocate, has given 120 a B+ based on 1200 reviews.
Nope. What is it?
Though it’s a bitch to get ABV beers in central PA because of the beer store laws, but I’m moving back to NC in three weeks where specialty beer stores run wild and you can find anything.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
nothing is safe anymore. just ridiculous. I am confident as a traveller that they will know who was next door and get them. Hell…The king of pop doc can say good bye to freedom. Good riddance.
TBL – sleep tight.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
Well I’m taking the bar in ten days … but I’ve spent this summer playing computer games and talking to strippers, so I can’t confirm or deny your assumption.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
forte is a raspberry lambic-esque beer. Really hot, really fruity. Wondering if anyone else had tried it recently.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
1st, 3rd, 4th, 9th, and 14th Amendments, right mole?
It’s been years since I took the law stuff, my knowledge is limited to what not to do in order to get me into trouble in terms of media and what I write. But I think there is a loose definition in those amendments to privacy and distribution of private wares.
Again, I’m drunk. So, this could all be terribly, terribly wrong.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
And @mole – I’m waiting in line for HP tickets right now. Can’t believe a midnight showing 3 days after release has a wait.
This better be a good movie. I’ve read the books.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
A-fucking-men. Can barely afford Dogfish out here, though, like $11 a sixer. I’ve had the Delirium, but sadly, I was so hamboned I can’t give it a good review.
My brother-in-law homebrewed one he called “Velvet Glove” (nod to Michel Foucault, WHAT). 8.6 ABV and smoooooooooooooooottttthhhh.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
I haven’t had the forte, but I am a fan of the Raison D’Etre.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
I should say, $11 a four-er.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
Currently logging out before I have time to say something
July 17th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
I paid 10 bucks for a four pack of 90min tonight!
Uh the third is quartering of soldiers and the ninth is enumeration, but yes on 1 4 and 14.
July 17th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
I stand by Stone to represent the West. Arrogant Bastard=genius
July 17th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Ah, well there you go, we’re in similar straits my friend.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:01 am
Seriously, days like these make me want to quit the Internet.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:02 am
Midwest represent!!! Surly Furious!

Hey, hey, hey. You’re not better than us.

somebody got caught with their pants down.
/YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 18th, 2009 at 12:05 am
Indeed we are. I always look at it with longing, but the wife, she doesn’t share my enthusiasm. So I end up with New Belgium. Bah.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:05 am
Just saw the Erin Andrews Footage. Hot damn.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:06 am
Adios Walter Cronkite. Fucking A.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:07 am
Would you be willing to email a brother a link?
Honestly I’m too young to really have remembered him. But I know this: Charles Kuralt loved pussy and drugs.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:10 am
Just watched the Erin Andrews footage.
She’s got nothing to be ashamed about……
…..can’t say the same for the self. Felt pretty creepy after watching that.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:11 am
If Batman hates himself after watching it, I HAVE to see it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:12 am
i havent seen …would i be able to mount my steed Air of Moral Superiority if i dont watch it?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:14 am
Moleman, Google “Erin Andrews” then click Videos. it should be the third video. it says it was uploaded 4 months ago using Daily Motion. But when I went to that website, I couldnt find it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:14 am
The only brewery in Atlanta that I can rep with a clear conscience is Sweetwater. They make some seriously good stuff.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:16 am
na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN! na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN!
/favorite prank call ever
Batman? Gotham City? Residence. Wayne Manor.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:16 am
Wow. She’s got some birthing hips on her.
Thanks Gonzo. Should comfort you that I have a Gonzo Fist tattoo, so you hooked up a like minded individual.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:17 am
I’m right at the edge of that, but I do. Also my dad was a journalist and a WWII vet, so Cronkite had much respek.
Fuck, I can’t even find it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:17 am
Sweetwater Blue got me ass once, because it couldn’t be bought in the place I took it to, from where I lived that it could be bought in. Thus I am forever enamored with SWB.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:17 am
Yea I really thought rape porn was the top of the mountain when it came to creepy porn fetishes, but peep videos are right there.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:17 am
well unfortunately erin andrews’ appeal begins its downward march.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Geoff Tate approves of your use of that phrase.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:20 am
@Bruce: I might have to agree with you. I kinda feel wrong for watching it. It’s not sexy, yet I admit she looks great.
@Milhouse: You may be right.
@Moleman: Rock on, brutha.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:24 am
Strangely enough, the Blue is my least favorite of their selections. The last time I took the tour was around this past Christmas, and they had just unleashed The Creeper from The Dank Tank, which is their experimental stuff. It was fantastic, and worth the cover all on its own.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:27 am
Mole, you’re in PA. Where’s the Wyerbacher love?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:27 am
There are few things in life that are not pun-worthy. This is one of them. At least with a porn tape, you can recognize it was your own fault. She has to be fearful now every time she goes into a hotel room. That’s just sick.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:27 am
I would have guessed she shaved.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:29 am
Have never had any of their beers.
However, I do partake in Straub, product of Saint Mary’s Brewery, East Strausburg PA. 18 bucks for a case of pints with ‘do not expose to natural light’ stamped on the cardboard. Can’t beat that.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:29 am
ok now i am no better than anyone here(not that i was before)…i watched it…and i have to say the person who did it should be beat. i actually feel bad for EA. i am willing to bet the person who did it works for the hotel or for espn.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:30 am
Wheres the Hannah Storm stalker?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:30 am
It’s a league game, Smokey.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:30 am
mrejr, linky linky?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:31 am
Not to play amateur detective, but as you say, somebody needs prior knowledge of where she’s staying and is apparently a wiz at video.
Question: Where is the ESPN technical crew staying?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:31 am
link?
And I’m sorry, but there are some mighty big hypocrites around these parts. I don’t think TBL gets to feign outrage over this when he’s the first to show candid photos of her ass and only her ass, whether there are clothes or not. You can tell me all day that it’s apples and oranges – and fine it is. But there are so many popular sports blogs that obsess over shots of E.A in a dress, half clothed, whatever…then to act disgusted by this – when you know everyone’s going to watch it. If you’re that disgusted by it, why tell people the site in the first place? Just reference that it happened. If it weren’t for this site, none of us or our thousands of Blind CC’d friends would have seen it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:31 am
wendy nix…if this teaches you anything it should be that you know have to put a peice of tape on your hotel room peep hole.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:32 am
mrejr, you beat me to it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:32 am
Holly Rowe has nothing to worry about. Actually, might be Rowe doing the taping..if you know what i mean.. (or Pam Ward)
July 18th, 2009 at 12:35 am
@ everyone: Go see “The Hurt Locker” if you live near such a theater that is showing it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:35 am
It’s in the top five on Google Trends. We aren’t that powerful.
Aside from that, we aren’t blameless on the EA front. But, we also are not culpable for some sick fuck doing this, and we aren’t hypocrites for saying it’s wrong.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:36 am
I like how TBL cites “legal reasons” as his excuse not to link anything, when it is more like “I want ESPN to mention my blog about…..”. TBL didnt give a fuck about anything legal when he got Clausen violated on his probation.
/
that’s a bannin
July 18th, 2009 at 12:36 am
Maybe Berman wanted to find out if she was With Leather material.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:37 am
Cursed, I agree that there’s some fake hand-wringing going on. (TBL should remove the link, too–Deadspin already did). But spare us the “ooh, I’m a contrarian!” act. It’s not at all convincing.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:37 am
The only crime committed there was by Clausen.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:39 am
So Duffy, can I preemptively admit I was wrong about the Alonso situation so you don’t call me out in the inevitable post about him fucking off to Madrid? I never in a million years thought it would be ‘he wants to leave but we don’t need the money’ rather than ‘he wants to stay but we need the money’.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:39 am
Wow there is a genuine 6 man battle royal going on for control of the high horse here.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:39 am
OUTRAGE!
OUTRAGE ABOUT THE OUTRAGE!
July 18th, 2009 at 12:40 am
What am I being contrarian about? I watched the video. I just didn’t understand TBL in this case. It’s fine to reference that the tape is out there, but he gave us the road map to finding the video.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:41 am
i bet it was bus cook
July 18th, 2009 at 12:41 am
If that’s Kelly, who’s the Sexy Stud?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:42 am
Remember the time when TBL insinuated that Bernard Berrian was a snitch? That Steve Young was anti-gay? No you cant remember because he scrubbed it.
Remember last week when TBL made a crude titled post about a baseball and Erin Andrew’s face? Of course not.
Remember last post when he said he watched 30 times? Ah, yes, the man who filmed this is a pervert.
/
thats a bannin
July 18th, 2009 at 12:42 am
Definitely a weird story. I can see I’ve missed a lot.
Here’s the deal with privacy: There are 4 torts involved.
1. Appropriation- Using another’s name, image or likeness for commercial gain without consent.
2. Intrusion- Intentionally intruding on somebody, physically or otherwise. The intrusion has to be highly offensive to reasonable person to prove liability.
3. Publication of Private Information- gossip, private conversations, etc. Is it public? Basically giving out private information on EA. Has to be highly offensive to a reasonable person AND not a legitimate public concern.
4. False Light- How person is portrayed.
/Media law notes

rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:43 am
Cursed, you’re right that Big gave out TMI–I didn’t really think about it when I first read it, but I see that now when I read it again. But to me, the rape joke at the beginning just made it seem like you were trying to be as contrarian as possible in your comment. I read your comment again, and take back my original comment–I’m tired.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:45 am
Oh my god it’s advanced torts all over again! Screw you Professor Lopatka!
July 18th, 2009 at 12:47 am
Gonzo, because I know you’re interested, here.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:49 am
I miss my donkey.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:49 am
Intentional infliction of emotional distress, intentional interference with contracts.
Advanced torts is for fuckin idiots. “false light”? Yeah, judges love that one.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:50 am
i cant wait until hernia’s screen grab post that says “there was shinkage!”
July 18th, 2009 at 12:51 am
Reasonable expectation of privacy.
Unless people think you should expect to be spied on in a hotel room, it’s an invasion of privacy, the way I learned it.
I don’t think we’re quite there yet, even if a lot of people probably believe that.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:51 am
Hey! It’s for third years who feel like taking a class with first year level thought.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:51 am
I probably could have simplified it a little more.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:52 am
I don’t even think a lot of states even recognize that one anyway.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:54 am
False light is a crock of shit. It’s for people who can’t quite prove defamation.
I will say though, defamation cases are the funnest cases to read in law school.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:57 am
Mole, that is fuckin kick ass.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:58 am
Lights just went down. Harry Potter better be better than this tape I haven’t seen.
I got the stink eye when I laughed out loud at this.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:59 am
I think he has wanted out for a while. The stories were constant. They had to have been originating with his agent.
Not bad business of they get £32m for him though…
July 18th, 2009 at 1:01 am
Just doesn’t make sense for a Basque player to play for Madrid, it’s all money. Different from last summer for sure.
Doubling the money they wanted last summer though, definitely a good bit of business.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:02 am
First time in two years I’ve read through Deadspin’s comments. Even they feel bad. Wow. This is a turning point!
July 18th, 2009 at 1:03 am
And how does the peephole dude not get freaked out in the first video. She walks right towards him. When I saw that I thought it was a set-up.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:05 am
an ‘merican icon just got taped in the nude while curling her hair and all you can think about is soccer! for shame sir! for shame!!
July 18th, 2009 at 1:05 am
Hey I already talked about her pubic hair!
July 18th, 2009 at 1:07 am
What’s interesting here is she’ll become such a sympathetic figure that she can do anything with this. I’ll be curious to see if she goes away for awhile, or if she says fuck it, I’m not going to run and hide, I did nothing wrong.
And… does ESPN cover this. They probably shouldn’t out of deference to her, but what about the other major media outlets. Shouldn’t CNN or MSNBC or Fox? This is a story, a celebrity having their privacy infringed to this extent.
Hopefully she’ll go on
Howard SternOpie and Anthony to discuss this in great detail soon.July 18th, 2009 at 1:09 am
if only she would have lifted her leg and let out a massive fart
July 18th, 2009 at 1:13 am
Papers, just papers, business papers.
And what do you do sir?
I’m unemployed.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:15 am
+1 new rug moleman
July 18th, 2009 at 1:17 am
@cursed
Go to a classy website (cunttt.com) and you will find a whole category of the aforementioned rape porn to wet your appetite.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:17 am
Help me out, Moleman. what movie is that?
July 18th, 2009 at 1:19 am
@ Gonzo
Big Lebowski
July 18th, 2009 at 1:19 am
Big Lebowski.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:20 am
Bruce Wayne is a good man. And thorough.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:20 am
not enough bestiality.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:25 am
would rather never see this hott piece naked than under these conditions
July 18th, 2009 at 1:26 am
Whew, thanks guys. I could hear the words, but couldnt place the movie.
oh, and that CUTTT website looks like some freaky shit.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:26 am
So for future reference when someone quotes a great movie, do I reward a +1 (item from the movie), just +1, or what?
July 18th, 2009 at 1:32 am
Not quite blonde, are we? More of a dirty blonde.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:34 am
When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things. One part wants me to take her out, talk to her, be real nice and sweet and treat her right
And what did the other part think?
What her head would look like on a stick…

July 18th, 2009 at 1:41 am
Lance, the New Rug was genius in its own right.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:43 am
Substantive question: Does she ever go out on the road again?
July 18th, 2009 at 1:46 am
Remember when Nyjer Morgan got traded and I made a comment about ‘well they’re gonna call up someone from the minors cause they have some guys who are raking it’? Well Garrett ‘The Robber Baron’ Jones has hit his seventh dinger in eleven games since getting called up when Morgan got traded.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:46 am
I’m really curious about the repurcussions of this video. I bet EA is sick to death about this.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:53 am
Thanks Gonzo, if nobody says anything it seems like it fell on deaf ears (or, blind eyes). There really should be a “way to express enjoyment towards comments” mentioned in the Commenter’s Bill Of Rights.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:56 am
If that were the case, Lance. There would be hundreds of +1 comments all over the site. I dont think Paolo has the time to count all of them for the weekly standings.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:00 am
@ Gonzo: I don’t drop by as much as I used to (this time last year I’d comment on damn near every post), so I didn’t know if there was something new that got started amongst you wonderful folks and the memo hadn’t found me yet.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:01 am
Nah just some memes lifted from the Deadpsin comments section.
Oh shit!
July 18th, 2009 at 2:06 am
@ moleman: golf clap. How’s grad school been treating you by the way?
July 18th, 2009 at 2:10 am
I’m finished with law school, fitting to start my masters next month followed by my PhD.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:13 am
Congrats man.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:34 am
Thanks. No congrats in order really, I’m just another perpetual student.
Though I did just order The Dude’s ‘Medina Sod’ bowling shirt so that I can fail the bar exam in style.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:34 am
GIVE ME THE VIDEO
July 18th, 2009 at 2:35 am
Mole, dont do it. You are falling into the trap. J.D. getting talked into more bullshit right now. Not worth it.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:37 am
Eh, I agree with TBL Godfather and Duffy that such tactics are creepy, but I DISAGREE totally with their typical feigned outrage masking for really just good ol’ more obsessive coverage of Andrews.
Hey this site is for pageviews too after all, so dudes just admit it and get off the faux holy high horse again when the coverage of her has been downright obsessive already before this came up. And Duffy, YOU are the absolutely worst hypocrite regarding your judgments in line with your inconsistent values and standards.
Your “outrage,” like that of the likes of most mainstream media should they even report the matter, might actually offend MOST readers after all.
Sure the matter is sickening despite all of our natural desire to have a peep as well, but if you played up the tune as obsessively as you have you don’t get to complain with great legitimacy once the dance floor goes out of control usually.
Change your tune before the fact if you wish to judge the matter with legitimacy, or just shut-up about her how about that?

Into what trap? The trap is working eighty hours weeks in a legal job that will give you a stroke before forty. I have no taste for legal work, it’s academia for me, my friend.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:41 am
Hey Mole, hey Mood, you are both up too …as I call them out for this bullshit feigned outrage after not a week goes by the TBL does not post something about the overrated Andrews!

Paolo is here? OK, now I know its time to pack it in and call it a night.
July 18th, 2009 at 3:00 am
Yes I am usually here late night lately, as I had a busy week at work and outside of it as I make my move locally next week. Thankfully the news cycle was slow this week, but this EA coverage on this site has been totally out of control. Now apparently whether or not overrated EA is covered as obsessively on this site, likely a bunch of dudes are going to be out of control with regard to her as well. Or uh, geez, err, golly, CAN WE JUST MOVE ON TO OTHER FUCKIN’ CHICKS FOR GOOD!
July 18th, 2009 at 3:27 am
I mean it’s really messed up, but for some reason I don’t feel any ‘outrage’ at this. And I certainly don’t get the sentiment I’m witnessing on the internet of ‘there’s nothing funny about this.’
People, including myself, are willing to make light of any messed up situation including death, yet when a hot chick has her hotel room snooped on it’s the end of the fucking world? I really think someone people believe that through defending her to no end on the internet she will have sex with them.
July 18th, 2009 at 5:17 am
@moleman
So you’re saying there’s a chance?
July 18th, 2009 at 6:34 am
an real low point for you CC. 0/10 here.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:07 am
tbl, when do the preseason NBA posts start, or even college hoops.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:13 am
I know there has been offseason stuff already. I meant predictions and all that…I miss hoops. I’d also love to see predictions on all big conferences.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:14 am
predictions for foosball. go state.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:23 am
Wow, picked the wrong Friday night to get drunk with family and not comb the Internet, because yeah, the MSM isn’t touching this right now. Be interesting to see who goes there first. Do you need to see it to comment about it? No, and no doubt that’ll be the angle of some outraged columnist: I won’t be party to a crime. My money’s on Doyel at CBS or Whitlock at Fox. One of them will be first in the pool.
July 18th, 2009 at 9:17 am
@moleman
So you’re saying there’s a chance?
awesome
July 18th, 2009 at 9:26 am
and the winner is….the examiner!
July 18th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Why?
July 18th, 2009 at 10:20 am
Cursed, at this point all TBL is doing is posting a press release and saying its F’d up. No rumors, no speculation, no screengrabs, hell not even a mention of whether she was wearing a hat.
/spent 10 minutes looking for it and decided i dont care
July 18th, 2009 at 10:24 am
all u need to do is do a vid search on EA, it is still in google cache. make sure google safety search is off
July 18th, 2009 at 10:39 am
TBL, I guess what I’m getting at is that I don’t see a gigantic difference in this and when a celeb goes to a private beach and has their privacy violated by paparazzi sneaking in and snapping pics (you’ve linked to those pics directly before). Sure this is creepier and the guy should/is going to be prosecuted. But again, you detailed how people could find the pics. If it’s outrageous, why did you do that? Obviously this was going to be big, let people find it on their own right? Just my opinion.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:00 am
Those celebrities rarely lawyer up and are not journalists, or even “journalists.” And, I’m sorry, if you’re nude and out in the open air, “privacy” is a myth.
In your hotel room? Uh, different story.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:14 am
Andy, journalists have a different privacy standard than other celebs? I certainly hope you’re not in law school or practicing. Where did you get that notion from?
Also, private beaches come with an expectation of privacy. People have to violate the law to get those photos (which blogs like this one then link to).
Sure, the hotel scene is much creepier, but both against the law.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:29 am
Duh, thanks weaprice, I know I’ve turned that off before, didnt even think to check.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:35 am
Anyone else watching the Open?
July 18th, 2009 at 11:41 am
Celebs don’t go on the road in front of legions of screaming college kids, and their reputation is less measured on a continuum from good to bad than it is in Q-score.
Journalists are a little different; while nude pics don’t seem to hurt celebs (see Vanessa Hudgens) as much anymore, I would assume these, and the fallout, are going to make Andrews’ job harder. That is, at the very least, what a civil suit is going to imply.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:57 am
I can’t believe this story. When this gets hashed out blogs will be given a lot of the blame for “creating the fanaticism”.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Even with the expectation of privacy you get with private beaches, it’s not going to go as far as the expectation of privacy for a hotel room. And not all photos taken on a private beach are going to violate the law, I would imagine.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
i doubt blogs had anything to do with this. the video has been out for 4 months. this was probably a hotel worker who thought that nude video of ea would be a payofffrom tabloids or she pissed off on of her coworkers who thought trhat the best way to get her back was to invade her privacy. i dont think the person who taped it was like “I am going to be ‘UGE ON BLOGS!” if that was the case the person who uploaded it would have put a nickname out there so they could get “credit” for it.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
No I’m not saying it was taken for the blogs, I’m saying fair or not the ever-present fawning over her on blogs will garner more attention because of this incident.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
NON-EA QUESTION:
How is the guy who sold McNair’s whacky girlfriend a gun not in prison? The dude is a convicted murder. He did so in 1993 and has been out for seven years. That’s nine years by my calcuations. So how in the FUCK is a convicted murder out of prison after nine years?
July 18th, 2009 at 12:29 pm
I think the fuckbag was 17, which means he was probably tried and convicted.
Says he’s 33 now. 1993 makes the conviction 16 years ago. Damnit, man.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
well his lawyer probably persuaded the court that the reason why he killed someone was that he was a product of his enviornment and that his mommy didnt hug him enough so really…..it wasnt his fault and they gave him a light sentence….or he rolled over on someone and took a plea deal.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
2nd degree murder and attempted robbery. Different states have different penalties and descriptions of what constitutes 2nd degree murder. So, it could be any number of things that led to a lesser sentence.
July 18th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
My guess is he was sentenced as a juvenile.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
He wasn’t selling weed, so the court system didn’t give a shit.
Send lawyers, guns, and money. The shit has hit the fan.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:29 pm
Can’t we just get all the goddamn lawmakers to agree that if you shoot somebody in the commission of a crime, it’s an automatic 20-year sentence without parole (whether the victim lives or dies)?
And I think the guy that “shot” the video of EA needs to be drawn and quartered.
/Will not watch the video cause I like riding on my high horse’d
July 18th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
My one SSP this week. Since we’re all talking about it, here’s some levity on the situation. Had to. Google made me laugh.
/that’s a bannin’
July 18th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
Probably have seen this already, but this is awesome. ND-Army in Yankee Stadium 2010.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
So that means two straight weekends of Irish football, in October, in the NY/NJ metro area. VS service academies. Please excuse me, I have to grab a paper towel.
July 18th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
One day I hope Notre Dame stops scheduling two service academies a year and plays a tough schedule. You know, like playing Akron, Temple, Kent State, Coastal Carolina, The Citadel, Youngstown State, teams like that.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Lol…. just remember though. Army and Navy, there’s a lot of history there. And it may be lame, but those schools WANT to play us. We don;t pay them to play. Those are time honored traditions. If you ask any body from Navy, even after they broke the streak, if they wanted to stop playing Navy, they would say fuck no.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I meant before they snapped the streak.
July 18th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I just read the comments from last night re: the EA video. We in the US have reached a new low when people (mainly women) are not “alone” in the privacy of their own hotel rooms.
If these were naked pics/video taken by her or her boyfriend, a little different in that she at least saved an image and she had knowledge of it being taken.
This is straight up disgusting. I really feel bad for her. She will probably be traumatized by this for life (never feeling safe, always thinks someone is watching her, etc).
On a brighter note, how about Tom Watson leading the British Open at 59!!!
July 18th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
tbl liked my comment so much, he posted it twice.
Thx TBL!
July 18th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
I can’t find this vid anywhere. Can someone throw me a bone here? Pleeeeeaaaaassse?? Thanks.
July 18th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
Pray tell, Mole, what exactly do you find funny about this?
July 18th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
I don’t know if Mole means “funny” as in humourous but rather otherwise. There is nothing funny about it all I think, with her privacy as a paying customer at a hotel violated, but certainly the sudden sympathy after all the obsession and drooling seems to me either ironic or hypocritical depending on its source.
July 18th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
Who is Erin Andrews? I dont have cable.
/relieved she wasnt blowing Ray J
July 18th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
No it’s not funny it’s fucked up, like I said. But I don’t get the outrage from the same people who a week ago were falling allover themselves about a picture of her butt from a baseball game, and articles about her ‘taking one on the chin’. They’re the ones that drive the page views and incredibly creepy obsession with another in the long line of Morgan Webb Syndrome women (good looking chick associated with a male activity suddenly becomes perfect) that creates the desire for this kind of thing. Whoever did it probably wanted to sell it, and knew there was a huge market for it.
July 18th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
CC – If you can’t see the difference between a female taking off her top on the beach (private or not)/yacht/boat/whatever, and a woman being filmed naked in the privacy of her own hotel room, there’s no hope for you. i really do feel bad for you.
it’s one thing to have rick sutcliffe of ESPN drool over her, players talk about her in the locker room (as reported by that guy in chicago), bruce pearl hug her at halftime, a USC player dance behind here … and this incident.
seriously? you can’t see the difference?
July 19th, 2009 at 12:05 am
Again TBL Godfather …women …ah, women …you just have to be more careful with them too even when just covering them to a great degree.
