We’ll Know Soon if Ricky Rubio’s ETA in Minnesota is 2011
1-liner, International Basketball, NBA July 30th. 2009, 4:00pmRicky Rubio: “Timberwolves top draft pick Ricky Rubio wants his basketball future determined by today, when tryouts for the Spanish national team begin for a European tournament in Poland, Barcelona’s El Periodico reported Wednesday. The paper also said the Regal FC Barcelona team is close to making Rubio, who plays for DKV Joventut in Spain, a five-year offer worth $1.4 million annually with an escape clause allowing him to play in the NBA after two years. Rubio, 18, was paid $97,000 last season.” Which is more likely to happen first: The T-Wolves find a coach, Rubio plays a minute in a T-Wolves jersey, or David Kahn has been dismissed? [Pioneer Press]

Jersey (Lionel): I’m on your side on that one. I was doing a “post summary”, and unfortunately, that was the summary
Call me funny, but four posts about an 18 year old that MIGHT play in 2 years doesn’t seem to be as interesting as another sport starting up after a 6 month absence with a lot more interesting storylines to discuss

Ehhhh… I’m a basketball guy too. But this story does nothing for me. Dolan spinnin off all his sports assets (MSG, Knicks, and Rangers) from Cablevision does.

yeah, I did say that, and the fact that this kid is even mentioned with his is ridiculous. Scouts are 50/50 on this kid, and this is one of the worst drafts in 20 years. Why the hype?
July 30th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
When did Dolan sell?! Don’t tease me like this…
July 30th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Why the hype?
People were impressed with his play in the Olympics. Scouts have been raving about Rubio for years as the best European guard prospect ever. See what i did there JPQ? i got you to talk about basketball

easy irish: I usually only like to talk basketball when it involves the Magic, old guys being better, or trashing LeBron. Anything else I’m swimming without a net

No don;t get excited…. he is jsut spinning off MSG and the sports franchises into one business. He will still be the fucking up king of that as well.
July 30th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
Here you go Shatner… MSG is now privately held away from Cablevision, which is publicly owned
