Lamar Odom Stays with the Lakers
1-liner, NBA July 30th. 2009, 6:15pmLamar Odom: He’s staying with the Lakers. Apparently, the deal is for 4 years for $33 million. This obviously keeps the Lakers as the favorites in the West, and probably the entire league. Right now, we like Orlando in the East. [ESPN]

Thank God.
Back-loaded or front-loaded, TBL? Any knowledge there? They’ve got to be over the cap by now.
Any particular reason you think Orlando has the edge on Boston? Just curious.

Off topic: $95 million yacht that looks like a killer whale. I can’t imagine having enough money to drop that kind of cheese on anything.

Over the cap? They probably now have the highest payroll in the NBA by a large margin.

Any quotes out of Boston yet? Game is over. What did the fat bastard say? I assume Theo was as telling as Cashman with his thoughts.

odom’s agent played chicken, and lost. Odom lost 3 million guaranteed by not taking the 4/36 deal that had been offered.
Not my problem, though.

So without much deliberation other than from the bojacks in Cleveland, this leaves the Celtics and the Lakers with everyone healthy as the lead contenders for the title run again. Sorry Orlando because Vince Carter is NOT going to pan out for you and Hedo will be a net loss compared to Carter, and no way Cleveland is in this mix for next year with both a healthy Orlando and Boston to fight.
